That is why some are still in jail, and many are soon off to prison.

We don't convict based on intent, particularly if the act being attempted wasn't feasible. Intent is useful for establishing motive, nothing more. There was no threat to the continued function of American democracy, a vote was delayed for two hours. I was disgusted and unamused by the events but comparisons to 911 and pearl harbor were always huge exaggerations.

That assumes one has the means to distribute. Product or contraband has to be present. An unarmed mob of idiots had no means to overthrow or seriously jeopardize American democracy. A drug dealer with a sack of opiates has the means of distribution.

Blm love fests sent over two thousand law enforcement officers to hospitals but those cops don't matter.

You took my statement beyond it's intent. If I assault a person with the intention to have their head shatter like something out of a mortal kombat video game but only end up splitting their lip,  I would not be charged with attempted murder. These idiots had no capacity or capability to overthrow the government. Law enforcement investigations have concluded as much. They over charged them as much as they were capable but no one has been charged with sedition, most with simple trespassing.
