The only issue for the jury is can one man, decide for himself that his election was stolen, and then try to steal an election by convincing the Vice President  to give it to him?

Actually, I gave you a perfectly acceptable generic definition of the word, "insurrection" (and, we should note, that I also know how to spell "DEFINITION" correctly, unlike you, who purports to have some degree of education beyond grade school).

If you had asked me for the LEGAL definition of Insurrection, I would have pointed you to 18 USC § 2383 ... alas, you didn't.

That section states:

"Whoever incites, sets on foot, assists, or engages in any rebellion or insurrection against the authority of the United States or the laws thereof, or gives aid or comfort thereto, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both; and shall be incapable of holding any office under the United States."

Interestingly enough, the crime that Rhodes and others were found GUILTY of was contained in a different section. 18 USC § 2384, Seditious Conspiracy.

"If two or more persons in any State or Territory, or in any place subject to the jurisdiction of the United States, conspire to overthrow, put down, or to destroy by force the Government of the United States, or to levy war against them, or to oppose by force the authority thereof, or by force to prevent, hinder, or delay the execution of any law of the United States, or by force to seize, take, or possess any property of the United States contrary to the authority thereof, they shall each be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than twenty years*, or both."

*Interesting to note that the jail time is TWICE as long as for insurrection.

Because any conspiracy to commit a crime is much worse than just the crime.

Let’s say a pretty girl walks the same path every night.

Two evil men watch her, each night as she passes by.

Conspiracy is two evil men agreeing on a plan, to rape her, and then either one gets up to attempt it.

Insurrection is a federal crime.  The Trump DoJ did not need any approval from governors or mayors to issue indictments.
