I am instructed that taking pride in things I did not PERSONALLY accomplish - pride in my race - is folly.
But I am instructed by the same people that I share racial guilt and responsibility for what others of my race did before I was born.
These positions - take no racial pride, accept racial guilt - are in opposition to each other. One cannot be right without making the other wrong. They are either both wrong, or one is right and the other is wrong.
If I must bear my race's shame, I have a right to tout it's accomplishments, as well. If I am responsible for Delanamore's captive labor, I deserve credit for Shakespeare's sonnets. His white accomplishments redound to me.

@Neo and I disagree He agrees with my critique: For one to be right, the other must be wrong. But I think the former (take no racial pride) is the wrong one, and he believes the latter to be incorrect.
