Use an internal hammer...can fire from inside your coat pocket. Nothing to get hung up on.

The Bryco-Jennings 25 is a bit blockier. But, they are pretty close in size. I happen to have a Jennings J-22. Bought it new a very long time ago. When I rode my motorcycle out west, I carried it in the liner of my jacket. The .22 is actually fairly reliable if you use Stingers and you clean it after about every 15 rounds. I've shot the crap out of mine just to see if I could break it. So far, it is still working. FWIW, mine has the metal safety bar, not the plastic one.

What's the name of the actual company making these things now? Lorcin, Bryco, Jennings, Jiminez, Raven? Other than the possible exception of the original J-22, these guns are the **** guns ever made. I do have a Lorcin .380 that someone gave to me, well, because he had to. Some day, I'm either going to melt it down with a torch or trade it for a pair of Nike running shoes if they ever sponsor a gun buyback again. The extractors just snap, crackle and break. However, it was a good gun to practice polishing the chamber, ramp, fire control parts, etc.

I do have a Lorcin .380 that someone gave to me, well, because he had to. Some day, I'm either going to melt it down with a torch or trade it for a pair of Nike running shoes if they ever sponsor a gun buyback again. The extractors just snap, crackle and break. Since it's just a step up from a piece of pipe and a nail, I don't follow the stuff.

Just the recoil will make the gun fly to her face.
One needs to at least know the basics . . . for a chance at not hurting oneself .
So I'd say . . . take her to the range with the gun she feels most comfortable with, take all the precautions . . . including having her wear a motorcycle helmet . . . and let her fire away.
After a few days she can take the helmet off and learn target practice.
That's how I taught my wife to fire.
At the beginning quite a few times the gun flew out of her hands to her face . . . with zero consequences !
Just laughs !
