California should be running huge desalination plants 24/7, and pumping the treated water into nearby lakes and reserves. They could green the entire west with water from the Pacific, if they wanted to. Making money selling the excess to landlocked states. The salt and minerals extracted have value too - could be further refined and sold off.

They going to dump the salt back into the pacific or refill stripmining areas for salt mines in the future.

Whatever  . . .  I think technology has improved since then ?

I was assigned to that ship in 77/78. It has since been decommissioned. If what I remember was true it had boilers that were used for the desalination. If the boilers went down temporarily (as they sometimes did) and we were out to sea we didn't have water to drink or to shower. When we went on a Westpac cruise we had to take a "Navy shower" to conserve water which meant turn on water, get yourself wet, turn water off, wash yourself, turn water back on, rinse yourself off, turn water off. BTW we made a port visit to Yokosuka (pronounced Yokuska) Japan in 78.

All in good time !

The newly created ocean's water will evaporate by the  power of the sun, create clouds which will pour down sweet water which in turn will create rivers  . . .

If one third of the earth is soon going to be submerged by melting pole ice  . . .  the cost of bringing the surplus water to the moon will be offset by the saving of agricultural land to feed the masses !

And who knows  . . .  eventually the earth will have a little sister out there !

One thing is sure  . . .  the surplus ocean water we bring there will not disappear into outer space  . . .  cuz the moon DOES have its own gravity !

Saving coastal areas from submersion ?
------------------------------------------------------------------
66% of the earth is already under water.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
With 8 billion of mouths to feed and parched throats to wet  . . .  and counting  . . .  do we really want the dry land to shrink to 25%  or less, due to melting polar ice ?

had you ever used your instincts instead of traditional forms of denying how biology works in plain sight you would be able to see how to correct overpopulation without destruction of the species inside out getting people to destroy one another over false narratives that mean more than survival of the species to those governing 5 generations simultaneously here intellectually forward.

Instinctive honesty can undo thousands of years of misdirection in one generation. Hell it can be done in 30 rotations of the planet with current technology.

A warmer Antarctica would be a wonderful thing.  An entirely new continent which can grow food, support new colonies of enterprising people.  I can't wait....

To whom will it belong ?

Will there be yet another war over it's ownership ?

Seems like Argentina will stake a claim to it for sure !

By the way  . . .  are penguins edible ?
Eating a penguin will almost be like eating fish !

To whomever can colonize it and hold onto their piece of paradise.  Screw international treaties.  If temperatures turn mild there, it will be a free-for-all.

Probably - So, make sure you're armed and ready to fight.

Whales think they are.  A couple I know traveled to the edge of Antarctica to see the penguins.  They don't have much fear of humans, I guess they will come up to people.  She said three things about them: That they are bigger than you might expect, they are obnoxiously loud and that they STINK like rotten fish.

I am aware no politician ever defends instincts above intellect, physical absolutes over anything is possible narratives, and most of all there isn't a political movement or spiritual philosophy that dares suggest time is stationary and life is perpetually balancing evolving in the moment here.

See why you are so sure my answer was no. you have known all along also and won't discuss it anywhere except in a private conversations with soles you know are controlling tomorrows to their advantage over everyone worshipping ideas now isn't eternity.

What ruling elites agree upon regardless political nation or global faith.

The byproduct of desalination, hyper salty sludge, is dumped back in the ocean, making it super toxic for living things.

The waste should be buried on land or pit to some industrial use

lol.

Yeah, if desalination worked that way, the free market would be all over it.

And when I suggested a far more sensible solution that would actually work, you started red-baiting like it was 1956.

You are all over the map.

Polar ice is not melting. It's growing.

That is a can of worms best not opened.

Someone might suddenly have a lightbulb appear over their head, and ask themselves why no nation has ever once tried to stake a claim to Antarctica. :)

Can anyone name a similar circumstance in the history of history?

There ain't no gold in them thar sludges. The notion of irrigation through desalination is economically infeasible.

There's a REASON California's puppets in Sacramento allowed the collapse of overtaxed aquifers, rather than rile their patrons by making them pay a few pennies more and treat the state like it isn't a disposable bottle. .

For desalinated water to irrigate crops, food prices would have to go much higher - making the people who control Biden happy, I suppose.
