When I got there, what I saw was desert, brown dried-up looking hills, dirty beaches and a testicle-shrinking cold-*** ocean.  The girls were hot, though.
I had a similar experience. First time there was in March 2007. I was expecting warm, sunny, palm trees, scantily clad women, etc. What I ended up seeing was cold, dreary, rainy in Monterey, CA and upon getting to Fresno... a pretty boring town that did not look all that different from where I lived in Idaho. On the trip back from Fresno to Idaho.. it was awfully brown. Lots of wide open brown.
