The idiot governor of Texas passed a law allowing that specific assassin to buy that specific AR-15 that he used to kill those children.
The least we can do is make is illegal for teenage crazies to purchase military weapons.
Imagine how hard it would have been for this guy to kill that many kids with a machete, a chainsaw, a slingshot, a switchblade.
If we want fewer shootings, then fewer guns is the clear solution.
One more thing. Abbott didn't pass a law that allowed him to buy it. They have been able to do that 50 years:

Same here in middle Tennessee. Small rural town. Teachers packing two officers per school. Gays and trans are not taught at our school. We even talk about the Bible and we’re public. Israel has government supported medicine for all citizens, including Palestinian Arabs. Israel subsidizes housing and income for thousands of Ultra Orthodox Jews who have huge families and all the husband does is study the Torah until retirement. After that, he gets a pension. Israel has subsidized education through university.
