Russia is slightly larger than the area in your map. In fact - and you can google this, - it's the biggest country on Earth. It HAS resources. Historically, the challenge has been getting TO them - not getting them.

I do not see where the Ukrainians are particularly fond of gays or transsexuals. This is not a map of Russia, it is a map of Ukraine, showing that Ukraine has a lot of resources that Putin would surely like to control.

She/he/it is right to a point, every time Ukraine moves to develop their energy resources, Russian invades. (If there's a weak democrat president in the US) Russia doesn't want to develop Ukraine resources, so much as it wants to maintain it's dominance over the European oil supply. Guess we should have tried harder at diplomacy. "Go **** your concerns, we are fast tracking Ukraine nato membership" perhaps wasn't the wisest response, particularly when Europe and Africa are dependent on the regions energy and food exports. It had nothing to do with Trump. Putin had to beef up his army and save up his cash because he knew that he would be slapped with serious sanctions, which has happened. It is clearly in the interests of the US that Ukraine is a sovereign nation and not a puppet of Putin.
Ukraine helps feed the world. Putin would use Ukrainian resources to pressure many smaller countries into some sort of submission.
