Ayn Rand was capable of writing well, but very, very lazy at editing and perfecting her work. That is why Atlas Shrugged was over 1200 pages and there is no conclusion to the depression everyone is mired in.  Ayn Rand's only really worthwhile book is We the Living. I think she spent more time editing it.

All through the first half of Atlas Shrugged we are told to wonder who was John Galt. But when we finally meet the dude, he is a long winded guy who refuses to shut up. I think Rand originally patterned the John Galt character after Nicola Tesla, who was quite weird and a total failure as a capitalist.

For years and years, Rand refused to allow Atlas Shrugged to be edited for a film. When they eventually made THREE films of it, each was worst than the last. We were asked to believe that the entire fate of the United States depended on one railroad hauling oil out of Colorado.

Mubarak was too bound to Western countries for aid, imports and exports to do what Hitler did, but he was a tyrant an an asshole until the Egyptian Army decided he couldn't cut it any more. The fool that replaced him, Mohamad Morsi, was a fool who was bound to the Islamic Brotherhood and only managed to hang on until the Military got tired of him and replaced him with a El Sisi, who is basically a younger version of Mubarak.

Islam and democracy do not appear to be very compatible. Turkey and Tunisia are the least repressive Muslim regimes. Morocco is a bit farther behind, and the King is a lot smarter than Mubarak, El Sissi, Erdogan or Morsi.

There is that Atlas statue in front of Rockefeller Plaza in New York City. They seem to like her there even though the "Atlas" bears a resemblance to Mussolini.
Nothing is easier than defending the status quo.

"May Day was first celebrated as an international day of labor in New York in the 1880s. Hitler made it an official paid holiday, not just a negotiated day off, on May 1, 1933 --  and used it to rally for his regime and industrialization. William Shirer (The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich), who was there, called it "an elaborate piece of trickery."

The next day, on May 2, 1933, unions were dissolved, their assets were confiscated, their offices were occupied and their leaders were arrested. Hitler then outlawed strikes, abolished collective bargaining and established the German Labor Front, a corrupt party organization.

"It wasn't even a sham labor union," Ledford said.

In Russia, he noted, "Stalin didn't have to eliminate unions -- Lenin already had." And Stalin's first Five-Year Plan converted labor groups into oppressive mechanisms.

Mubarak does not belong in the same category as Hitler and Stalin. But his government did routinely suppress worker protests by force. The government-run Egyptian Trade Union Federation was given a monopoly on labor organization in 1957 by the Trade Union Act, which prohibits union freedoms.

Brown’s statement about tyrants and unions may have been distracting and ill-advised given the current standoffs, but it also is historically accurate.
this is untrue. The German labor front was perfectly functional, and german workers had better wages and benefits than their 'allied' counterparts.

Syndicalism is in fact a critical part of fascism.

because anti capitalism was dominated by bolsheviks prior to the fascist revolution, the unions were of course captured by bolsheviks...and loyal to the USSR. those are the unions Hitler shut down.

The german labor front was not a sham nor was it corrupt. I dont care what 'ledford' says...the actual historical records do not support that claim. NOT EVEN the anti nazi modern historical record...which is habitually full of lies about the nazis.

ironic, since 70% of all the GDP of fascist italy was produced by nationalized industries...

(more than the USSR, FYI)

Fascism was actually more 'socialist' than communism...both in theory and in practice.

A major factor in fascist socialism was their desire to get 'off the grid' of international finance. (german persecution of the jews was of course forcing such an outcome anyway)

fascists did not attempt to micromanage markets...but you dont need to do that for socialism.

they had strong syndicalist policies, much like the 'new deal' by FDR (indeed they praised the new deal)...they had massive make work programs especially around infrastructure...and the state reserved the right to just tell any industry what they were allowed to do. (unfortunately, thanks to war, this meant a lot of car manufacturing had to halt production and work on tanks instead, for example...the war was bad for their economy but it still thrived)

the absolute truth about believing in anything else is possible is there is a physical absolute nobody wants to recognized in good faith, social justification, ancestrally practiced to intellectual concept of date on a calendar of comparing we against they, them, and those, people all within the same genetic species evolving one ancestor at a time here now.

Do I really need to keep going you stupid, union-communist pawn?  You don't even know who's dick you suck or who has their feminist dildo shoved up your fat ***!
The UAW isn't even 1% of the Union labor force.
Like I said earlier..the Union Cadre appears to be on board with much NWO Agenda but the fact still remains that I would not be as well off as I am now had I not gone Union.
The UAW had negotiated some insane rules that basically rewarded non productivity and helped to weaken the American Automakers ability to be competitive with off shore mfgs. "Public Unions" have helped bankrupt cities in financial distress because they don't give back what the politicians in power handed them when times were good. I don't consider these unions representative of what I'm talking about..which is the BACK BONE OF THE USA .....ORGANIZED LABOR
Had I not "Gone Union" I would have no pension.... just like all of the poor guys who devoted their lives working for you with nothing to show for it other than the photos of your gun collection you send them to look at...?... Image  .
In spite of Union Leadership corruption and policies that served to undermine the unions themselves.....America's "wealthy middle class", our working standards, benefits, etc. are all thanks to the Labor Unions.
"THE NON UNION SECTOR NEVER CONTRIBUTED IN ANY WAY TO ADVANCING THE BARGAINING POSITION OF THE AMERICAN WORKER".

Unions set the prevailing wages, benefits  and working standards for SCABBY **** like you to follow. You could have paid your Scabs even less if not for the Prevailing Wage structure set by the unions in your market.

You can't point to one single advance in Worker's Rights that was fought for by a bunch of cutt throat SCABS willing to under cut each other and live like migrant gypsys driving from one Boom Town to the next just to survive..

whatever the nazis did, it worked. empirically. Workers in nazi germany did do a lot better than under the allies.

now the war, of course, forced some things which makes the ultimate result harder to measure. but whatever...before the war workers were quite happy.

spain never entered the war and they had great worker rights...arguably too much... (mandated siestas? lol)
