100% of registered voters have 64% turnout and when elections are close to 50/50 it was a total sum of 180 million votes total.
They likely hired consultants. Not that I think this effort won't fail for reasons not related to poor agricultural practices.FOS » 07 Jul 2022, 5:33 pm » wrote: ↑ total ****. Sorry I don't believe this for a second.
Effective farming cannot be done by noobs. It Is actually a highly skilled profession and requires a lot of tools and chemicals to deal with the infinite number of things that can ruin your harvest..
Only professional and well equipped farmers can manage to get a halfway decent yield per acre. And they do not live in Detroit (or any city, most likely)
Consultants don't work for free and the tools for farming are not free. I think this isnpure bullshi5 made up storyNeo » 07 Jul 2022, 5:39 pm » wrote: ↑ They likely hired consultants. Not that I think this effort won't fail for reasons not related to poor agricultural practices.
Tax dollars. This **** wasn't free.FOS » 07 Jul 2022, 5:41 pm » wrote: ↑ Consultants don't work for free and the tools for farming are not free. I think this isnpure bullshi5 made up story
how many people in Detroit can even pay taxes lol
Michigan has some pretty affluent areas. A few alcoves in Detroit.
I just don't believe it. It would be a lot cheaper to just make up this story than to actually create a low yield altruism farm in the middle of one of the worst crime cities in the usa lolNeo » 07 Jul 2022, 5:45 pm » wrote: ↑ Michigan has some pretty affluent areas. A few alcoves in Detroit.
You give far too much credit to progressives intellect. They aren't result oriented, feelings are what matter. Damnit they care!!FOS » 07 Jul 2022, 5:47 pm » wrote: ↑ I just don't believe it. actually funny enough I would say YOU give 4hem too much credit. Because in order to make this silly urban farm...the progressives would need to understand meritocracy and they would be forced to pay some straight white male in order to make the farm function.Neo » 07 Jul 2022, 5:48 pm » wrote: ↑ You give far too much credit to progressives intellect. How did our "Slow foot drag to Metric" harmed the auto inductry...?DeezerShoove » 07 Jul 2022, 3:47 pm » wrote: ↑ There are many factors.
The left presides over it now to be sure.

WWII had a tremendous effect on it as well. Beginning of the end so to speak.
One thing that gets forgotten:
We bombed two countries into oblivion, then rebuilt them.
Meanwhile we got rich because we were the only major country left intact.
Japan and Germany were forced but they did, in fact, modernize.
We still had major industries using intact but ancient tooling and factories.
(This actually contributed to our slow, foot-dragging regarding the metric system.)
Our automobiles suffered by comparison eventually.
We reigned supreme for quite a few years but our aging industry finally took a thrashing.
Since then our image (read customer loyalty) has been forever tarnished.
funny thing, people “fled” Detroit when the auto companies decided it was cheaper to pay Mexicans, Georgians, and other riffraff than UAW workers.Skans » 07 Jul 2022, 12:26 pm » wrote: ↑ Made up of land when people fled Detroit because of Democrats, high crime, gangs, Union-caused job losses and woke politics. That's how Detroit rolls.
Well-meaning people do exist. Whatever they do gets overwhelmed...
How's that funny?
You are mixing up what I said a little bit.GHETTOBLASTER » 07 Jul 2022, 6:55 pm » wrote: ↑ How did our "Slow foot drag to Metric" harmed the auto inductry...?
Machinists have used a decimal based INCH SYSTEM since the very beginning of time.
AFAIK it was good enough to get us to the Moon and back.
The switch to metric is a prime example of how [[[Globalism]]] was shoved down our throats at our own expense.
It made our standard tooling that was more than adequate to show the rest of the world how stuff gets done....nearly obsolete.
It made a mess out of sorting out our national auto parts supply system.
Well I am sorry...but this subject hits a raw nerve with me.DeezerShoove » 07 Jul 2022, 9:48 pm » wrote: ↑ You are mixing up what I said a little bit.
I mentioned it parenthetically to say we haven't adopted the metric system here.
And part of what helped stop that was automotive factors.
People that build them and people that drive them both contributed to the foot dragging.
The builds are ALL metric these days. I design and launch vehicles. I know.
Tooling is nearly all there. If you look at CADCAM work. Pretty much all metric.
There's still some legacy tooling and parts but that is "catching up".
It all has to do with economics. It's just business to NOT have two sets of tooled parts.
There are also homologation requirements that are easier to certify if everything is metric.
We would end up being the last place on Earth using imperial (English) measurements.
Dual dimensioning went out decades ago. At least in automotive.
I am so used to it, it doesn't matter much to me.GHETTOBLASTER » 07 Jul 2022, 10:26 pm » wrote: ↑ Well I am sorry...but this subject hits a raw nerve with me.
