The only surprising weird thing I have eaten was rattlesnake, in the Mexican state of Tlaxcala, where it is a specialty.
In the Fonda del Convento, a recommandation from the bus driver.
I thought it would be rubbery or otherwise gamy or awful, but it was more like trout.
It was breaded with cornmeal and deep fried.

I did not remember it being so rubbery !
Especially for someone who has no teeth !
The first time I did have my natural teeth !
I don't think I'll ever eat it again !

Has anyone here ever eaten whale here ?
Not many countries hunting whales for human consumption, these days . . .
Finland . . .
Norway . . .
Sweden (?) . . .
And Japan !
That is . . . as far as I know !
-----------------------------------------------------------------
And this practice is highly criticized the word over !
--------------------------------------------------------------
And, honestly speaking . . . I myself would sink any whaling ship I came across . . . WITH its crew !
Had whale a couple times. Once it was rubbery, the second time it was tender. Guessing it's like octopus, if not cooked correctly it's rubber.JinnMartini » 19 Jul 2022, 11:57 am » wrote: ↑ First time was last time I was in Japan,

Reptiles have a strange cross of fish and chicken flavor. Personal favorite is alligator tenderloin, tastes like lobster/scallop/chicken. Quite tasty.Xavier_Onassis » 19 Jul 2022, 12:16 pm » wrote: ↑ To follow up, you can try Pitbull puppyveal. Probably not rubbery.

I have never turned down a food and have traveled internationally quite a bit. Think the only thing i haven't eaten is primate.
Strangely the best venison I had was the two days Arby's had it on their menu. Perfect medium rare (assuming they suevide it then seared) and melted like butter. Definitely used the fillet cut.sootedupCyndi » 19 Jul 2022, 12:41 pm » wrote: ↑ Thats cute Neo.
I ate octopus once at a chinese Buffet. it was good.
But I can cook a piece of deer meat into shoe leather?so hard tellin.
I'm a meatitarian - I don't eat fish. Freaking whales are just big fish with tits and lungs. They swim around in their own toilet bowl, eating krill and fish turds. I'd have to be starving before I'd chomp on whale.JinnMartini » 19 Jul 2022, 11:57 am » wrote: ↑ First time was last time I was in Japan,

I once loved to go fishing when I was a kid, until I had to eat what I caught. That's when I gave up fishing forever. To me, fish tastes like chicken fat soaked in 2-week old urine.
You must be one of those guys who believes that fish don't piss and **** where they eat, breath and sleep!
Tell Jinn to get his arss home before he gets sick!

LOL - All fish occupy a singularity, and there are never any fish downstream from other fish!roadkill » 19 Jul 2022, 1:06 pm » wrote: ↑ Fish are like any animals...except their **** flows down stream from where they eat.

Tell ya what - I hereby bequeath to you all of the freaking ****-breathing fish in the world. All I ask in exchange is a lifetime supply of bacon and smoked brisket.roadkill » 19 Jul 2022, 1:14 pm » wrote: ↑ But fish don't eat fish turds. That's why they call it fishing and not catching.
