Before WWII, Trump's father belonged to the German American Bund and was even arrested for violent behavior. The Royal Family are Germans, the surname was Battenburg, translated as Mountbatten. Being as they were fighting the Germans, they felt that their Royal house should bear a proper English name. They chose to name themselves after Windsor Castle.
Windsor is Norman French, and means "riverbank with a windless".
