Flanked by members of the state police, Gov. Ron Di Santis gave a televised press conference the other day to announce the uncovering of voter fraud in the state's 2020 election. The governor was grim but proud. Twenty (20) cases. All registered voters voting under their real names but they had served time in jail for felony convictions and were ineligible to vote under a Florida law that continued to penalize them, reflecting the Republican philosophy that you encourage better citizenship in released prisoners by hurting them as citizens. The cops managed to track all of them down at their listed addresses.

So, you think convicted felons should get the right to vote back?

Do you also think they should also get the right to legally buy and own guns?

I think there's a process for ex-felons to regain their voting rights.

Once time is served I believe voting rights should be restored unless there are special circumstances. Circumstances like the felony committed was voting related. Feel the same about felons getting their right to bear arms back. If they committed an act of violence as part of their felony then perhaps they should be barred. This should be determined on a case by case basis rather than blanket applied.

Constitutional Amendment 4/Felon Voting Rights - Florida
https://www.dos.myflorida.com/elections ... ers/...A felony conviction in Florida for murder or a sexual offense makes a person ineligible to vote in Florida unless and until the person’s right to vote is restored by the State Clemency Board. For any other felony conviction in Florida, a person is eligible to register and vote if the person has completed all terms of his or her sentence. Completion of the sentence means: Prison or jail time;
So, let's recap the Ignorance here...shall we.

I do. I am a yes on both counts, so long as their crime did not involve a weapon.

Helll, **** YES!  The people of Florida VOTED to return the vote to people who had completed their sentences, and assholes in the GOP dominated legislature REFUSED to allow them to do so!

Do you also think they should also get the right to legally buy and own guns?
That would depend on what they were convicted of.
Some yes, others no,
Twenty cases out of millions, in elections where theses votes affected no election is NOT "MAJOR FRAUD".

What this was, is DeSantis pulling a grandstanding stunt.
DeSantis is ALWAYS ANGRY, a ALWAYS bitching in his whiny little voice.
He has been an awful governor, and needs to be booted out of office forever.

Convicted felons probably love Trump, a comrade in spirit and if not yet in experience but on the horizon. I'd still support the vote for them.

It's INSIGNIFICANT FRAUD. It deserved a press conference like a new member having joined this forum deserves a press conference.
