I have had an awakening about online communities in the wake of a fellow member's death.

I was surprised to hear about Crazyhole's death at the other forum. He was quite active at both forums, then poof! Just like that, a ghost and a memory.  Our reactions show concern, but in a hollow detached manner. Weird. They aren't bad, just weird. We still had many interactions, but I can't say I see evidence of real sorrow. Including from me. Most of us liked him, but there are little authentic reactions that one would have if anyone knew someone outside the internet.  My awakening is simple with no real profoundness: "To hell with online communities; they are nothing more than silhouette of reality, leaving real life waiting for you to partake in. With that said, nice knowing you all, though we never really knew each other, life is far more important than here or any other online community. I'm out. Adios!

It’s true. Some people regard this virtual reality, fighting with individuals they don’t know or will even meet, as more important than life itself.

Sorry to hear about his annihilation.

I truly hope he is reborn, maybe on another Earth in our universe.
