We have 2 children, a 29 year old daughter who got her degree in Human Biology from U. C. Santa Cruz & got a job with a leading biotech company, got a couple of promotions & then opened up an office for them in Portland, & has had several promotions since then.  She married in 2019 at a "Destination Wedding" site in Cayucus on a ranch outside in late afternoon with a view of the beach.  She dated her husband for a couple of years before their marriage & he is 31.  He passed the bar exam in 2 states, & also got a job in Portland, as a prossecuter, & has had several promotions, but she still earns more than he.

Our 21 year old son has a mild form of cerebral palsy that mostly affects his gait.

I worked my butt off all my life, 3 part time jobs at the same time as I went to school full-time earning a Bachelor of Science in Political Science at the University of Houston & an additional semester at the University of Hawaii.  For the 1st 3 years, I worked as a women's shoes salesman 3 nights a week & Saturdays.  And I went to school 3 days a week & worked Tuesday & Thursday if I could get hired at the Longshore hall in the morning on my Social Security card.  I would usually unload 50 lb. sacks from a lowered  pallet with a partner into the hold of a ship where temperatures would reach 115 degrees in the summers.  1 time I   helped unload cow hides from the hold of a ship to a pallet hoisted out.  And, yes the smell was horrible.
