Does anyone remember the crying indian commercials?

Yes, but that was about littering and polluting the streams and rivers.  I do believe we should not pollute the streams, rivers and oceans with trash and toxic waste or cut down the Rain Forests.

IF electric cars made any sense, there would be no need for big government to force people into them.

Without fossil fuels, civilization will cease to exist.

50 - 60 years ago the most dire prediction of all was...

POPULATION EXPLOSION

and our numbers have doubled since then.
So many of our troubles would decrease dramatically if we could see our numbers return to those of 1960 USA

And if it does? You may be surprised how the earth may adjust...
Good the bad and the ugly.
 But imagine the positives...? also.
Crops may grow huge and better in places they never have before? Maybe more food? feed the world.

Who cares if the sea level rises? And wipes out the rich homes on the beaches? If they had any brains... they wouldn't have built so close to the shore.
Or moved back a bit.
boo hoo.

In early 1500 the English scientists of the day calculated the end would come on Feb. 1, 1524, by a flood in London. It didn't even rain on that day.

The scientist recalculated and found an error, and the result was the end would come in the year 1528 (sound familiar) ...

and the soothsayers are still predicting the apocalypse ... lol

Except to the people and firms that wind up by design in a position to profit from the climate hoax.

A couple tidbits.  I have an old physical sciences book from when I was young.  One of things discussed was climate changes.  It references various cycles of various periods identified by the Chinese 3000 years ago.  Climate cycles all look like sine waves (something common in nature as responses to negative feedback systems always result in sine waves or a combination of sine waves of differing magnitudes and periods).  For instance the first sine wave has a period of one year and we now know this is due to the tilt of the Earth's axis causing the seasons of the year.  But there were others identified by the Chinese and some of late, they just are no longer taught and in fact covered up by the climate alarmists.

There is another which is 7 years in length (El Nino and La Nina) caused by ocean currents in the mid-pacific and the Central American isthmus.  Still another has a 114 year period caused by feedback systems in the sun resulting in solar flare activity changes.  Something which has now been modeled mathematically now that we understand solar processes.  Still another has a period several hundred years in length due to the precession of the Earth due to angular momentum caused by a less than perfect spheroidal shape (due to the moon).  Another not identified by the Chinese is due to the manner in which the Earth's orbit is dictated by the solar winds.  Closer to Solaris the concentration of solar winds is greater.  So as the Earth dives into a lower orbit the winds push it back out.  As the Earth's orbit ascends the concentration of solar winds diminishes and the Earth dives back in ever so slightly resulting in a sine wave cyclic.  The Earth can be seen to sort of float on these solar winds.

What climatologists have done is nothing short of Chicken Little. "The Sky is falling! The Sky is falling!" Why? Because they have a dog in the fight. If you want to make money convince the world there is a global catastrophe on the horizon and you are just the group to solve it... provided the pay is sufficient.

It is no coincidence these modern-day snake oil salesman only show the data back to about 1941. 1941 was the trough of one of the higher magnitude near term cycles... the 114 year cycle. 57 years later (1998) was the predicted peak and sure enough we saw peak temperatures around that time. Obscured somewhat by phases from the combination of sine waves, but clearly proved out and they were well aware of when to expect the peak.  It is equivalent to someone showing you data back to the previous winter at the peak of summer and declaring, "If these temperatures keep rising like this we are all doomed".  Incidentally, this is the same trough which brought about agricultural strife and likely two major military conflicts.  Both Hitler and Napolean discovered just how severe Russia could get during this trough.

It became evident even the most influential climatologists didn't believe in global warming when the climatologists stirring up all the hubbub at the UN had their emails hacked. Examining their emails one in particular stands out in which they were discussing the need to change the terminology from Global Warming to Climate Change after 1998. Clear evidence it was a scam and they knew it better than anyone. In these emails they were discussing what they could do to get Gore elected as "after the election when temperatures begin to fall for prolonged periods we will have lost our window of opportunity to obtain funding from the US"... their target. They hoped to receive $2 Trillion in funding for climate research. Climatologists didn't used to get paid crap. Now it is quite lucrative due to the fact the sky is falling!

Years ago while working on a defense system I had a front-row seat to witness a somewhat similar example of global mass hysteria. I can't get into any detail except to say this particular system relied on a facet of the ozone layer. One of the questions we couldn't answer was whether the ozone layer was continuous throughout the globe (or at least at potential geopolitical hot spots around the globe). It might surprise many the thickness of the ozone layer averages about 6 to 10 feet or thereabouts. A very thin layer of the atmosphere to say the least. So it wouldn't have surprised us to find patches around the Earth where there was no ozone whatsoever. But were these large areas over adversarial nations? Did the ozone have lots of little holes like polka-dots? We just didn't know and before we sunk a bunch of taxpayer money into the project we needed answers. Of course we didn't want to tip our hand we were interested. So the Defense Dept funneled some money into the NASA budget and hired them to take some scientific measurements (images) of the ozone. We came up with a cover story it was to study astronomical imaging interests and even had some advertising of the results included. When the images were made public scads of environmental whackos went nuts claiming, "the sky is falling! The world is coming to an end if we don't fix this! This must be man-made and our fault!"

Now there could have been a hole in the ozone since before the dinosaurs. We now know that it too follows a cyclic pattern related to solar flares. Yet all manner of global hysteria persisted for quite some time until the environmental wachos got distracted by "Global Warming"... or is it "Climate Change" now?

I read about these various cycles too.
When a couple (or more) synchronize, the trough or peak can wreak havoc for a year or so.
People can pass regulations like the panicky assholes they are.

Bottom line is that it's still just **** weather. It will pass.
Relabelling it "climate" is propagandizing. Elevating it to a regal status for effect.

Exactly.  The sine waves combine or detract depending on the phases.  Other phenomenon can also interfere and obscure the cycles for a bit (e.g. volcanoes).  But within a couple of years the cycles reemerge.

Chicks with dick and balls is also "settled science."

Invent the lie; convey it. Say it, bray it, spray it. If counter-news arises, delay it; away it, belay it - let none betray it. If it cannot be delayed, slay it. If anything can allay it, then please, God, may it; I pray it.
