Hoping to avoid blackouts, the California Independent System Operator, which manages the state’s power grid, warned Tuesday that it probably will issue a series of Flex Alerts over the next several days. Flex Alerts are voluntary calls for conservation during the afternoon and evening hours, when energy use tends to soar. Residents will be asked to turn up their thermostats to 78 degrees or higher, avoid using dishwashers or other large appliances, and hold off on charging their electric vehicles, all during the 4-9 p.m. time frame.

Hey, let's all get that EV car!
Thank you for this post!
We get that those warnings here  in Maine during a heat wave.
Don't use your appliances until after hours?
I can see a future...

Call to a employer?
" I'm sorry I can not come to work today?  Because I had no power to plug  my car in, And my car wont start"
We used to call in sick?
Now we call in car sick? :loco:

If electric cars made any sense, there would be no need for big government to force them on everybody.

Are the rich , elite and politically connected going to give up their private jets?

No more than those that want to disarm law abiding citizens while they remain protected by ARMED security guards...

Hey, let's all get that EV car!
This is GREAT..!
EV CAR OWNERS WILL BE FORCED TO RELEARN ALL OF THE OLD TIME "PASS TIMES" WHILE THEY PATIENTLY WAIT TO CHARGE THEIR CARS.
THEY CAN TAKE UP "WHITTLING" IN A ROCKING CHAIR, PLAYING CHECKERS VS A "VIRTUAL FRIEND" [THAT COMES WITH THE EV CAR].....USING A PEDAL POWERED ELECTRICAL GENERATOR..I THINK A WELL CONDITIONED "PEDAL PERSON" CAN MAINTAIN A 200 WATT PACE LONG ENOUGH TO ALLOW THE CAR TO ADVANCE 500 FEET EVERY 3 HOURS OR SO.....

Hey, let's all get that EV car!

It couldn't happen to a more deserving state.

But, but, but...it's GREEN! No, you've been duped. it is not green, when considering that many of these cars and batteries take fossil fuel to produce them, they zap our power grid, and are a hazardous waste nightmare due to their batteries, and the fact that people normally dump them instead of buying expensive replacement batteries, filling up the junk yards. Then look at the power it takes to recycle these disposable cars. Fossil fuel cars are kept for years or decades. Green people are worse for the environment than fossil fuel people.

I saw a diagram of what the battery bank typically looks like.
It is a solid mass of cells that fillup the inside of the cars frame from east to west and for a good portion of the cars frame fore and aft.
If the car gets badly tweaked...wrecked...frame twisted...I am not sure what the chances are of the battery getting damaged beyond repair.
I also have no idea how "servicable" the battery bank is by the owner or if the average owner is at the mercy of professionals to do all the work.

Alright, buddy. Let's keep it clean. This is a family forum.

When you complain, ur friends roll their eyes and ur enemies rejoice

"Because I SAY I am" is a todler's tantrum, not "science"

You cannot betray me - only yourself, to me.

Who cuts off your dick is not a friend

An opinion you won't defend is not your own

Humanity's Law of the Jungle: Survival NOT of the fittest, but of the tribe

When peeing in the pool, stand on the edge

If gender is not sex, why should a gender claim change what sex you shower with?

It's against their culture to pay an electric bill.
