There is some justification for smoking to be banned during working hours by some employers for some jobs. But this is not a call for the state or national government to make.

This all started when medical insurance got tied in with employment. People demanded employers cover their employees. Drug testing came along. Now workplace drug tests to determine your rates.
Big gov advocates demanded this. You asked for this. You got it.

They do not normally test workers to establish tobacco users. I have never heard of anyone doing this.
Some life insurance policies ask the applicant if he or she is a smoker, and they take their word for it.
But should the applicant later die of lung cancer and an autopsy reveals that he or she was a smoker, then the company might simply refuse to pay.
Can you name a single insurance company that tests applicants for tobacco use? I bet you cannot.

Others freely associate with smokers. Don't like abortion, don't have one. Don't like smoke, stay out of places that allow it.
