If you live in Sharon Springs, or Cody, or Social Circle, or Bogalusa or Meridian or Arkadelphia, a nuclear war will be lots and lots of fun.Skans » 12 Sep 2022, 3:02 pm » wrote: ↑ If you live inside of a city, you're screwed. So, most of Middle America would be spared. Unless you live right in a big city, there really is nothing to worry about when it comes to a nuclear war.
Read a few of these glowing predictions and they run contrary to everything we learned in the cold war. Nuclear war will end all human life, nuclear winter will kill billions. Recent articles seem to make global thermonuclear war as not only survivable but perhaps a better alternative than waiting for global climate catastrophe. Removing a couple billions useless eaters might even be something to celebrate. I don't buy the new reports, they seem to be selling the public on nuclear war.Skans » 12 Sep 2022, 3:02 pm » wrote: ↑ If you live inside of a city, you're screwed. Until the food trains and trucks are not coming any more.

Always look at the bright side! At least you will get a quick tan!Xavier_Onassis » 12 Sep 2022, 4:49 pm » wrote: ↑ If you live in Sharon Springs, or Cody, or Social Circle, or Bogalusa or Meridian or Arkadelphia, a nuclear war will be lots and lots of fun.

Robert R Mcammons Swan Song is the best novel on the topic I have read. Little supernatural elements thrown in for good measure but the rest seemed all too plausible.GHETTOBLASTER » 12 Sep 2022, 5:48 pm » wrote: ↑ https://www.bookseriesinorder.com/g-michael-hopf/
If this subject interests you enough to buy a series of POST APOCOLYPTIC books for your HUNTING LODGE...OR READING MATERIAL FOR YOUR SHTF FALL OUT SHELTER...G Michael Hopf is a very imaginative but believable Story Teller. The USA He envisions THE MORNING AFTER AND IN THE MONTHS TO FOLLOW should be made into a TV Series as far as I'm concerned.
It is best if you read his books in sequence, this is why I posted this link.
Well it looks like this story involves a rapid "evolution" into Supernatural Beings..which might be entertaining and very imaginative but not what Hopf is "selling" in his books.Neo » 12 Sep 2022, 5:53 pm » wrote: ↑ Robert R Mcammons Swan Song is the best novel on the topic I have read. I wonder if fattened transgender women taste like women? Hope not to find out but those chubby miserable **** would be easier to hunt than cattle.nefarious101 » 12 Sep 2022, 6:10 pm » wrote: ↑ Anyone who is too ill to survive or can't feed themselves would be the first to go....the remaining 8% to 10% would survive on a scale of ok to thrive. It would be an exciting and interesting time in human history....I know people in Bogalusa, Meridian and Arkadelphia...the mortality rate would be about the same everywhere if the food stopped. Survival depends on what you know and what you are prepared for.

Don't listen to this. It is rubbish. A small tactical nuclear warhead (small one) has a 10 mile radius which is a circle 20 miles across. This radius is basically a black spot on the Earth. Glass and otherwise scorched with virtually 100% casualties. Inside this radius even those moderately sheltered would burn. Those outside this zone out to about 15 miles from the blast would not fair well. Glass and debris would be flying around like a tornado. So this would depend on how well you sheltered in place. If you sheltered properly you could expect to find many in need of your help. Radiation exposure would be severe out to about 20 miles. So again this would depend on how well you sheltered. But there are prolonged risks of exposure and without knowledge of what you're dealing with most wouldn't last long enough to prosper or proliferate afterwards.Skans » 12 Sep 2022, 3:02 pm » wrote: ↑ If you live inside of a city, you're screwed.
