Of course it is quite insane how many fake memes there are in pop culture about Adolf. I cannot possibly address them all in a single post...but I often see people suggest that he was into weird esoteric occultism crap...wanting the nazis to find the spear of destiny etc etc.

He wasn't. In fact he openly stated himself in a speech on Sept 6 1938 that all occultism and esoteric stuff was nonsense. Hitler was very much a zero superstition sort of guy and Considered his main advisors to be scientists doing actual science...even if the results of their science was inconvenient to national socialist ideas.  (Hitler stopped using the word Nordic to describe germans after nsdap genetic scientists determined this was an incorrect category)

Now there was a sort of occultism element within nsdap Germany, but it wasn't from hitler...it came from a semi secret society called the thule Society. The thule society was composed of very eccentric wealthy aristocrats...who had a deeply religious view about race...many actually believing they could cast spells or summon demons to defeat Jewish power.

the thule society and the nsdap naturally became fellow travelers since they had similar goals...and Hitler kinda needed them because they were both wealthy and also excellent at espionage...spies and assassins from the thule society were top notch. A couple of nsdap high command did come from the thule society, but most did not...and Hitler himself never attended a thule society meeting. I'm quite certain he would have disdain for the thule society for being too creepy and mystical. But they were far too useful to discard.. especially because of their espionage abilities. (Although once he was in power hitler did suppress and dissolve all secret societies, including the thule society)

There were some nazis...who had been connected with the thule society, who insisted on doing such silly stuff. But Hitler himself was always opposed to it. He just had to occasionally allow some of his thule people to do silly **** when it wasn't too expensive

The nsdap members who we can confirm had thule society connections were Rudolph Hess and Alfred Rosenberg. Goebbles spoke once or twice at a thule society meeting, but clearly was not very interested in them (based on his own diary).

Himmler was also a sort of occultist, but a Jesuit style catholic occultist. He was into finding religious artifacts like the spear of destiny. Hitler did not share his passion at all.
