Oh- I think that's what i have.. Its not plastic.. But it looks like it. I also got those metal ones you pull back. Those were cool.Xavier_Onassis » 21 Sep 2022, 11:46 am » wrote: ↑ I look around for vintage.. like can openers- or ice cube trays.\
The best ice cube trays are clearly those made of silicone, and they have not been around long enough to call them "vintage".
You can easily pop the cubes out of a silicon tray without running water over them, as you had to do with the plastic trays. Before that, there were the aluminum trays that had this lever you had to pull to break the ice and get it out of the trays.
Can openers, there is just one best: Zyliss Lock and lift, made in Switzerland. I don't know how old the design is, but it is not old enough to call it "vintage".
Electric can openers need batteries, and batteries need replacing and can damage the device.
I found your OP to be an interesting observation. I personally have 2 cars, both stick shifts. And, one motorcycle, which obviously is manual shfit/clutch.Monderegal » 20 Sep 2022, 7:20 pm » wrote: ↑ This is a little off topic for politics but I saw in my email today that apparently the stick shift will not be offered in automobiles anymore. Why do you want to work that hard???? I haven't had a stick shift since the 90's?Skans » 21 Sep 2022, 4:53 pm » wrote: ↑ I found your OP to be an interesting observation. I personally have 2 cars, both stick shifts. And, one motorcycle, which obviously is manual shfit/clutch.
I have only owned one automatic transmission car since college and that was back in 2003 for a couple of years before I totaled it.
When I drive my wife's car, which is an automatic (she can drive a stick well, though), the sucky transmission always has a lag - and it's an Audi. Freaking thing has a supercharger, but a ******-shift transmission. Freaking useless!
I am sure that my next car/truck will have to have an automatic transmission - I dread owning such a horrid thing! I would like to find a 4x4 truck with a stick shift built around 2015 with really low miles on it. Even that would be hard to find.
Even the C8 Corvette - NO STICK SHIFT, JUST ******-SHIFT!
Where did you get that sharp knife? It actually carves a pumpkin.
Well, without sounding crude, Cyndi, you're a woman. That's why real men call what women prefer to drive (move-a-lever-and-go with no effort) "******-shift".sootedupCyndi » 21 Sep 2022, 4:57 pm » wrote: ↑ Why do you want to work that hard???? I haven't had a stick shift since the 90's?
I would like a simple roll up window tho.. Nope

You can still buy great potato peelers and cookware online, you just have to know what to look for. And of course, it will be expensive.sootedupCyndi » 21 Sep 2022, 11:54 am » wrote: ↑ Oh- I think that's what i have.. Its not plastic.. But it looks like it. It's really funny... because I inherited everything here.. Some of its old-old. Like I have a potato peeler- probably my age.. its STILL better then the new ones.. And Revere ware stainless pots and pans.. Older then me.. Screw these non -sticks they dont last either.
