I completely agree. HOWEVER, in the 1990s, bubba clinton brought the dems to wall street's table. The QE program was a massive buying by the fed of Treasury Notes and Bonds and the greatest transfer of wealth in the history of the world occurred. Some $4.5 TRILLION was given to Wall Street banks through its QE program, with the American taxpayers picking up the IOU. And it was the magic negro's man Timmy Geithner at the helm of the Treasury dept. And you are one gullible, no, dumb *** to think that the magic negro did not have a hand in this scheme. Timmy worked for the magic negro, idiot!!!
That $4.5 TRILLION pulled out of "thin air" was given to banks, under the misguided notion that they needed the money to remain solvent. The banks promptly invested this money, which kept the stock market humming, but did nothing for jobs, wages or the GDP.
This was by design. The fed could not allow the bank’s largesse to be circulated into the public for fear of rapid inflation.
The banks also funded company mergers, company debt offerings and stock buybacks. This activity kept the money sequestered and allowed a greater return for the banks. After all, they were getting free money to invest — there was no way to lose.
Who did this help? The 1%, and pretty much only the 1%.
Those actions were the reasons the American middle class has been decimated and no longer makes up the majority of the population.
You lost me from the start when you said we are a democracy.B.See » 18 Oct 2022, 9:52 pm » wrote: ↑ THE TRUTH ABOUT THE RIGHT WINGED WAR ON THE MIDDLE CLASS:

Probably can't distinguish Monetary from Fiscal.

Who nominates the chairman of the fed? Who approves that nomination?
How does the government finance its massive budget deficits? By selling treasury bonds. Who is buying all this debt and "monetizing" it?
William Salter writes for the American Institute for Economic Research:
"The fed makes all of this government spending possible by creating artificial demand in the bond market. The fed buys Treasuries on the open market with money created out of thin air. No other entity has bought more US bonds than the fed – not foreign investors, not US banks, and not even US corporations and individuals.
But there is another way to think about the relationship between fiscal and monetary affairs. When governments run deficits, they can be paid for three ways. First, the debt can be rolled over via additional borrowing. Second, it can be amortized (paid down through tax surpluses). Third, it can be inflated away. This last one is clearly relevant to monetary policy. If fiscal authorities can pressure monetary authorities for favorable policy, the monetary authorities can run the printing presses to erode the real value of the debt.
The political process can select for monetary policy makers who will accommodate fiscal needs, even without overt coordination between fiscal and monetary agents. In other words, fiscally accommodative central bankers are adaptively successful in the political environment of fiscal–monetary decision making."
Braindead biden and the dim-0-craps' socialist "fiscal" policies with their $1.9 TRILLION climate-change and social-spending cash infusion into the economy: “The American Plan.” have **** the US economy up most likely beyond repair with the massive inflation it has caused.
Inflation and soaring energy prices already had erupted in Biden’s first months, fueled by his green agenda, executive orders, and “rescue plan” — well before Putin’s invasion.
And now the falsely named "Infaltion reduction Act" is only going to make matters worse for the struggling middle and poor working classes.
I did not figure you to understand anything. So you resort to your usual ignorant tactic of deflection by ad hominem.
I know that the chairman's term is staggered, so as not to coincide with presidential terms. I also know that Carter appointed Volker, who was renominated by Reagan. Greenspan served 4 different presidents from both parties.Buffalo » 19 Oct 2022, 3:54 pm » wrote: ↑ I did not figure you to understand anything. You do know that the fed has been monetizing government deficit spending?

Then you will also remember that is it was Reagan and Greenspan that cooked up the fraud of supposedly making SS solvent for decades by convincing Congress to raise the payroll tax on the middle class and working poor when he actually used the increased revenue from that tax hike to offset the deficits caused by his tax cuts for his wealthy supporters.Blackvegetable » 19 Oct 2022, 3:59 pm » wrote: ↑ I know that the chairman's term is staggered, so as not to coincide with presidential terms. I also know that the only POTUS in my lifetime to threaten a Fed Chair is the cretin for whom you cast 2 votes.
Any questions, Ofay?
