Is that the same Elizabeth Warren who took advantage of the elderly and flipped their houses for a profit?B.See » 20 Oct 2022, 9:30 am » wrote: ↑ The Consumer Finance Protection Bureau, the brainchild of Elizabeth Warren and an agency created for the protection of the American consumer, was empowered in ways that were designed to isolate it from political influence.
Both of which were REASON ENOUGH, apparently, for Republicans and their deep pocket lobbyist in the banking and financing sectors to revile it like the PLAGUE, working incessantly from its very inception to undermine and hobble an agency whose work had benefited tens of thousands of consumer victims of predatory lending, mortgage and finance practices, etc.
When Donald Trump effectively shut the bureau down via the appointments of puppet "acting" directors like Mick Mulvaney who immediately fired the entire advisory board, their work on behalf of consumers (like consent decrees also did under Trump's AG) dropped to virtually NIL.
Now the CFPB's very existence has fallen into question due to a recent ruling by yet another judicial arm of the MAGA right - that "good ol' boy" 5th Circuit I'd written about in my pg thread on "Conservative Courts."

So what? She was in the flipping business. Cable TV is replete with shows featuring people who FLIP HOMES FOR PROFIT. That's the whole IDEA of it. Nowhere in the article does it suggest she'd done anything illegal, or predatory.roadkill » 20 Oct 2022, 9:37 am » wrote: ↑ Is that the same Elizabeth Warren who took advantage of the elderly and flipped their houses for a profit?
Consumer Rights? Yeah...right. lol

I'm certain a conservative such as yourself, who apparently has NO problem with companies making record profits during a pandemic and an oil price hike wouldn't begrudge her THAT.

I read the headline the FIRST time, champ. Sounds like she bought foreclosed homes, flipped them, and sold them for profit, and helped some of her relatives make a little cash as well. Big whoop.roadkill » 20 Oct 2022, 10:52 am » wrote: ↑ Maybe you'd find yer conscience if you read the headline again...

Far be it for YOU, who hasn't said a ------- thing about your savior TRUMP and his entire criminal life of bilking associates, ducking obligations via bankruptcy, fraudulent charities, fundraisers, and universities, and vastly overcharging his own secret service detail for room and board at his properties.to deign to tell ME about "conscience" bub.
BOTTOM LINE, the GOP never gave a flying **** about the consumer, middle class Americans, OR the working poor.
If I recall correctly at the time 9.5% wasn't a high rate and they made money off the deal. Not as high a rate as some credit card companies would TRY to charge if not for the work of the CFPB. But hey, keep on trying to deflect and make excuses for the wealthy, elitist enabling GOP YOU support.
Was the 9.5% compounding rate daily, weekly, monthly, seasonally/quarterly, solstice/semiannual, annually? each yields a completely separate total sum.B.See » 20 Oct 2022, 11:45 am » wrote: ↑ If I recall correctly at the time 9.5% wasn't a high rate and they made money off the deal. In one thread you devoted MORE space to criticizing one woman than you EVER have in criticizing all the **** Trump and his band of GRIFTERS have pulled...EVER. Quite telling.

@roadkill Is the best you can do by way of a response is to downgrade it so it can't be read?
