You should see an alternative practitioner, RA is a chronic illness that needs to be resolved with radical lifestyle changes.Fuelman » 04 Nov 2024, 10:24 am » wrote: ↑ Guess it depends on how hard you like to get ****?
It's difficult for Americans to buy into the community togetherness help your neighbors type of stuff. Too often the caring individuals get trampled by those expecting everything.
Healthcare is an issue and the main difference between us and them.
I recently switched from methotrexate to Humira to control RA. The metho was a few dollars a month, the Humira is $6000/month for two pen shots. Thankfully the income cap was $140k to get it for free. Someone somewhere is getting seriously ****. We don't have commercial health insurance.
Would it be different with "free" healthcare? I have no idea.
In Canada, which had second-highest cost for both drugs, Humira cost $1,950 per month and Enbrel cost $1,646 per month, the IFHP reported. Switzerland had the lowest cost for both drugs among the countries included in the comparison: $881 for Humira and $1,017 for Enbrel.May 13, 2014Fuelman » 04 Nov 2024, 10:24 am » wrote: ↑ Guess it depends on how hard you like to get ****?

I don’t know about “loads of saturated fats”…someone who eats 5+ servings leafy greens, 4+ servings root vegetables, and 4+ servings fruits with low amounts of salmon and beef/lamb is likely to recover from RA much faster…Cannonpointer » 04 Nov 2024, 10:51 am » wrote: ↑ "Neighbor" has a meaning beyond "lives near me." Neither has health care. What we both have - and we pay directly, they pay through taxes - is emergency care. That is, sickness care - NOT health care.
Humira is not health care at all. It is sickness care. Health care would be Qunol, lots of cayenne and other peppers in your diet, a lot of garlic and ginger in your diet, low carbs and high saturated fats (plenty of salmon but NO fish oil - the very best fish oil is ****), and plenty of full-spectrum, third-party-tested CBD.
R.A. is an inflammatory disease. A systemic and rigorous anti-inflammatory diet is health care. Shots and pills are sickness care.
But anyway, it sounds like you're getting socialized medicine to me. Doesn't it to you?
I'm not a troll dick sucker. *** dick sucker. Your mom sucks *** dick 12 times and hour.
I'm sure you like a real hard *** dick up your *** don't you ***? Stay away from little boys ***.
It's a little late in the game for that. The RA has caused a lung disease with no cure (ILD).LowIQTrash » 04 Nov 2024, 12:30 pm » wrote: ↑ You should see an alternative practitioner, RA is a chronic illness that needs to be resolved with radical lifestyle changes.
So you're dying?Fuelman » 04 Nov 2024, 1:08 pm » wrote: ↑ It's a little late in the game for that. The RA has caused a lung disease with no cure (ILD).
Not yet but definitely has shaved 10-20 years off my life.
If you have nothing left to lose, this is when you go all out and try alternative medicine - no matter how wacky it sounds.Fuelman » 04 Nov 2024, 1:08 pm » wrote: ↑ It's a little late in the game for that. The RA has caused a lung disease with no cure (ILD).
Sorry to hear that.Fuelman » 04 Nov 2024, 1:14 pm » wrote: ↑ Not yet but definitely has shaved 10-20 years off my life.
I appreciate the info, the wife will most likely check out the alt medicine guy.LowIQTrash » 04 Nov 2024, 1:24 pm » wrote: ↑ If you have nothing left to lose, this is when you go all out and try alternative medicine - no matter how wacky it sounds.
Alt medicine doesn’t necessarily mean drain your savings to pay for doctors / practitioners, you can read like 20 books and see if there is a common thread.
————————————
IIRC one of the alt medicine guys I follow says RA is actually caused by a virus that is currently undetectable via standard testing. It attacks your joints and nerve cells.
Conventional medicine (which you’ve been taking) suppresses your immune system, which is actually trying to keep the virus from doing even more harm. The pain is a signal your body is fighting back - a good thing.
Your ILD is likely caused by immune suppressants allowing the virus to run amok - and viruses are well known to travel around the body if given the opportunity, hence a vital organ now failing.
——————————————
I must repeat:
Conventional medicine has failed you.
There still MAY be a way to get a good # of your years back without breaking the bank, but you have to stow your skepticism.

Are we talking stem cells?Fuelman » 04 Nov 2024, 11:43 am » wrote: ↑ I'm not sure I would call that socialized medicine. You know the drug company is taking a huge write off producing a product no one can afford.
I wish a diet change would take care of the RA but it has been **** with my lungs for years and has become more serious.
The next step is a biological infusion, $22k for the first two rounds. Supposedly will last 4-6 months.
I guess it's my turn to be a charity case.
No trials unless they lead to patents - not to health.LowIQTrash » 04 Nov 2024, 12:50 pm » wrote: ↑ I don’t know about “loads of saturated fats”…someone who eats 5+ servings leafy greens, 4+ servings root vegetables, and 4+ servings fruits with low amounts of salmon and beef/lamb is likely to recover from RA much faster…
It would be very beneficial for the alt health community to see 150 randomly selected RA sufferers to undergo a trial and see which solution works more effectively.
If you are not keenly aware of precisely what toxins your cells are battling, then you are not receiving health care. Your condition has been DESCRIBED - your SYMPTOMS have been classified and a disorder pointed to and named, Now comes the "treatment" - and brother will they give ya the treatment! The cause of your issues cannot possibly be known without a full tox-screen that looks at your levels of every heavy metal. Do you know how much aluminum is in your body? How much mercury? If not, you are not receiving health care. You are receiving TREATMENT. For symptoms.Fuelman » 04 Nov 2024, 3:25 pm » wrote: ↑ I appreciate the info, the wife will most likely check out the alt medicine guy.
It gets a little murky when taking in all the variables. The blood screen for 150 autoimmune disease came back negative, we'll just call it RA.
We went to the University of Colorado to see a pulmonologist who has been studying the relationship between RA and ILD for 10 years. She told us the amount of scarring in the lungs tells her this has been going on for years. Much longer than the time on RA drugs. Next month will be two years I've been on the RA suppressor.
Strange how life rolls sometimes. We self moved ourselves to Colorado, moved Mom from New Mexico to be with us, built a house and 30 days after moving in basically become immobile due to RA. It is painful and debilitating. Never really had any symptoms prior except an occasional flare which we attributed to carpal tunnel or pulled this or that the wrong way.
Humira does what it's supposed to. It blocks the inflammation markers in the immune system and have 100% mobility with no pain.
The ILD is another story. Enough damage has been done where it's difficult to keep oxygen saturation up above 88 with physical activity. Got me one of those fancy $4000 pulse oxygen units for a little boost when out and about.
The next step is a infusion that will supposedly keep the RA under control and slow the fibrosis in the lungs.
We have known for about 6 months now and mostly recovered from the reality slap. It's a good day to be alive, the inevitable will come someday just NOT YET!
Looks like the wife has some homework to do. Thanks.Cannonpointer » 04 Nov 2024, 4:11 pm » wrote: ↑ If you are not keenly aware of precisely what toxins your cells are battling, then you are not receiving health care. I would bet a week's pay that 20 minutes a day in an infrared sauna would radically improve your well being. A really good one is available from home depot for about 4k - but you can get them on the cheap, too.
By the way - a hair analysis that breaks down every toxin and all of your electrolyte balances/imbalances (like the ratio of potassium to sodium) costs about 100 bucks for the lab work. This includes ALL heavy metal toxicity and any other nastiness you need to chelate out of your system. Symptoms tend to go away when causes are addressed. The industry YOU appear to be counting on treats symptoms. The AMA's business model does not include addressing causes. That'll lose a regular doctor his license to practice.
Find a naturopath. Do the lab work. Save a bundle and add years to your life and life to your years.
Sweet Jesus.
I believe that toxins in the body are at the root of disease. There are genetic issues, of course - but even those can often be dealt with through proper nutrition. The book Dead Doctors Don't Lie is a worthwhile read. The same authors' book, Rare Earths Forbidden Cures is likely just what you should read - though I cannot swear to that, as I've not read it yet.Fuelman » 04 Nov 2024, 4:51 pm » wrote: ↑ Looks like the wife has some homework to do. Interestingly, the wife bought me 10 sessions of light therapy with blue and red LED lights. Did it help? I have no idea.
I totally get your take on Western Medicine, have been fortunate to not need anything to do with the industry except for a broken wrist in 60 years.
You are OK untill you're not!
Scary **** huh!!Cannonpointer » 04 Nov 2024, 4:52 pm » wrote: ↑ Sweet Jesus.
Get a naturopath. Find out what toxins are causing this ****.
If you’ve done 1-2 blood tests already and nothing comes up, it’s almost certainly an undetectable virus.Fuelman » 04 Nov 2024, 3:25 pm » wrote: ↑ I appreciate the info, the wife will most likely check out the alt medicine guy.
