So...I was having some morning insomnia and just innocently websurfing around when I came across this...

John Mellencamp sits for national anthem before Colts-Eagles game

I've  never been a Johnny Cougar fan.  He was always sort of a low rent Springsteen.  Which, I suppose is pretty bad since I never made it all the way through even one side of a Springsteen LP.  But anyway...the FOX article caught my eye, and then I made the mistake of clicking the link to this **** Dan Dakich's Twitter page.

And after looking at a bunch of the replies, I got to thinking about free speech, free expression, the National Anthem, faded Old Glory, knee taking...etc.  But particularly the flag, and what it stands for, all across the fruited plain and from sea to shining sea..  Well OK...what I think it oughta stand for...

More than anything else, the flag oughta stand for every American's right to take a giant **** on the flag.  If the flag stands for anything less than that, the flag isn't worth the **** laying on it.

I also liked one of the tweets on this asshole's Twitter page, which basically said...

"Reckon if all these angry patriotic assholes are standing up at home in front of the Tee Vee when they're watching Monday Night Football and the anthem is played?"

Interesting comment, eh?

I'm gonna say their fat *** is parked in the Lazy-Boy, one hand on the can of PBR, the other hand in the bowl of pretzels...no hands on the heart.

Excellent article....after taking the time to read the entire article, and not labeling it as Jew bashing like the RETARD Ikey has...there is a lot of factual info here. Ikey says he has done a 40-year CLINICAL study on Trump, but as usual, has presented no kind of factual "timeline" on his findings......nothing, nada, zilch, zero.

The cleverness and foresight  of those Jews is pretty impressive.

I've never been a big fan of him either.  That said, he has the right to sit during the anthem for any reason he chooses...be it a protest of just being an old, lazy asshole.  But everyone needs to remember, the thing that gives him the right to sit gives others the right to criticize him however they choose and in every way possible.

As for the question Icky thought was interesting, all it takes is a minute to look at the US Flag Code to get an answer to that burning question. It states that during the rendition of the National Anthem, those present should stand and render the proper salute.  So, unless the singer is standing in your living room, there is no "requirement" to stand.

The flag code is a guideline from whoever wrote the flag code.  It's not statutory...and in fact failure to follow the "flag code" could be simple ignorance of the "flag code" or outright dismissal of the "flag code".  Either way, free expression is free expression, we're supposed to have it, and any suggestion that anybody "should" do anything during the rendering of the National Anthem is meaningless in light of what free speech and free expression really means.

So FAUXNEWS and Dan **** can piss and moan all day long about John Mellencamp.  If we're looking at behaviors that are actually destructive and damaging to this country, we oughta be looking first at the history of FAUXNEWS, the behavior of the Republican Party, particularly over the past six years, but going all the way back to Nixon, if we're being honest about it.  There's your research and history.

Coming from a guy who thinks the smell of another man's **** is an aphrodisiac I can see why you chose the "**** on the flag" analogy.  America and Americans make you bitter for some reason....why?....because we won't enforce your self-given constitutional right to diddle small children and pee in the ladies room?

Actually, the US Flag Code is statutory (4 U.S. Code 8), but you are correct in stating there is no penalty for not following it (other than ridicule).
