First, let me begin by saying I wouldn't wish the death of a child on any parent. I have kids, as most here do, and I can't think of a worse nightmare or hell, than enduring the loss of a child.

But free speech, as was Musk's main motivation in taking over Twitter, has its thorns, as well as its roses. Picking and choosing who gets free speech is not a society that has free speech. NAMBLA is protected under free speech laws. They are a legal organization. Is it sick? Yes. However, it is also a part of society that makes free speech...free speech. If Musk is going to pick and choose, then he is no better than the original owners.

I don't care for Alex Jones's sick theories. But he is still part of a free speech society. Coming up with sick theories is not illegal. He got screwed in the court ruling.
Jones said that the Sandy Hook massacre, in which 20 children and six teachers were shot dead in 2012, was a hoax and called the parents of the victims “crisis actors”. He kept peddling the lies for years, and has been ordered to pay $1.5 billion in damages to the families of the victims.Mr Musk, who rarely speaks about the passing of his 10-week-old son, Nevada, from sudden infant death syndrome in 2002, said he has “no mercy for anyone who would use the deaths of children for gain, politics or fame”.

Back in the day. Alex Jones was a true patriot. When he was young and on the shortwave. He crashed the  B Grove. Thats how he made a name for himself. Special forces.
He has exposed a ton of truths over the years. Lately he blew up like a balloon. Maybe?
Tipped a bit on the insane side. Do i think they were out to get him? maybe?
time- it will come out in the wash..

Looks like Musk has a much lower thresh hold of censorship...so I would call that better than the 100% Liberal Fascist / Orwellian WrongThink  Control version of Twitter.
I'll bet Musk foresees getting dragged into legal trouble and wants to avoid it.

Yes, he does. But free speech is free speech. He is setting himself up for a slippery slope. I mean think about it. Dims use school shootings incessantly as a potential possibility to gain support for their agenda. That's no different than Jones using it for fame or political gain. Dims don't care about dead children. They see school shootings as an opportunity to advance their gun agenda. If Musk is going to be consistent, then he should keep the dim politicians off Twitter, as well. However, that would make Twitter back to what it already was. Nothing changed.

Free speech is only guaranteed not to be infringed upon by the government.
Private companies like Twitter are free to infringe as much as they want to.

Th point is that Musk wanted Twitter to be a free speech platform for all. That's why he took it over.

I don't know enough about what Alex Jones accused some of the parents of.
What I have seen was a video of a Father of one of the dead kids...LAUGHING AND JOKING the  day after the shooting ...
just seconds before he was due to make ....a tearful statement on camera.
Have you seen that video...?

I did see that video. Definitely strange. He is accusing the parents of being crisis actors.

Agree. Profiting off dead kids and traumatizing their parents is an understandable red line.

Dims do this quite often after a school shooting. They don't care about dead kids. When a school shooting occurs, they immediately use it as a platform to forward their gun-law agenda. How is that not the same? If it is the same, then should Musk prevent the dim party from posting?

Nambla has nothing to do with free speech.
.they do not make any political points. They are simply obscenity. They should all be thrown in prison and I insist that is perfectly compatible with free speech

It doesn't have to be political. NAMBLA still profits.

In my mind, it has to be some valid political or philosophical speech.

Pornography is not free speech. Nor is subversion...nor libelous gossip...nor the undermining of healthy values in a society

In the case of democrats it's used to reduce public sentiment for private gun ownership. As the kids are being shot with private guns I think their use is understandable. Anti abortion activists to show the horror of abortion. It’s not for profit, it's to reduce dead kids. What Jones did was deplorable and revictimized families suffering unimaginable losses. His motivation was profit and glory, not trying to change what he sees as a social ill. While I disagree with progressives on guns I can see why they use school shootings to illustrate their point.

He is arbitrarily banning people according to his whims.

He is firing people, but what evidence do you have that he is banning Twitter users? Outside of Jones.
