Nothing to criticize? You mean like Pol Pot or Chairman Mao? I'm not calling Trump a mass killer but let's start with the mask controversy. We had people we had to call security on because of refusals. Masks have been used clinically for over 100 years. That's the problem. Leaders are not infallible but serve at the consent of the governed if you want to set your mindset to the founding fathers. Read the Federalist Papers and you'll see why the founders feared a monarchy or autocrat like Donald Trump.

No one. That was hospital policy. The point is that it wasn't really that much of a loss of liberty when you think of the public health consequences of a hospital and wider environment being overrun by Covid infections. Public health should probably come first in those circumstances.
Nothing is easier than defending the status quo.

People telling the world that EVERYONE needs to wear a mask are assuming everyone is potentially sick.
That was/is a panic mode brought about by irrational fear of the unknown. It is understandable.
I think we were way past this long ago. But some drank a lot of the government KoolAid.

Most people are not quite as afraid as you.
The unmasked might be sick with a disease that, while contagious, really has a very low death rate.

I could keep going but this is the bottom line. When you join the US Armed Forces you take a pledge to defend the Constitution. Trump instead asks his followers to defend and enhance his own power base by any means necessary. This is the derangement. I hold Conservative views and ask anyone who believes in the notion of Conservativism to read "The Conservative Sensibility" by George Will. Other than that, just try to get off outrage and battle mode and see the world for what it is. Perhaps some Trump supporters need to forget that we are a nation, not the whim of a single individual in the form of Donald Trump.
