New Mexico prosecutors will charge Baldwin and armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed with two federal counts of involuntary manslaughter over the death of Hutchins on the “Rust” film set in October 2021, when a real bullet was loaded into a prop gun.
Assistant director David Halls, who handed Baldwin the loaded gun, accepted a misdemeanor charge in a plea deal.
“If any one of these three people — Alec Baldwin, Hannah Gutierrez-Reed or David Halls — had done their job, Halyna Hutchins would be alive today. It’s that simple,” special prosecutor Andrea Reeb said.

I had read back when this happened that some of the crew had been using several of the firearms on the set for target practice before filming started for the day.roadkill » 19 Jan 2023, 1:05 pm » wrote: ↑ There's NO reason a live round should have been on the set. The gun should have only been ready to use just before the scene was shot...even then check the gun to make sure it's only a blank round. This demonstrates that Alec runs on smart *** ego and not smarts.
Apparently, she texted the producer that dangerous things were happening. It will be for a jury to decide whether she had BOTH the duty AND the ability to prevent it.RedheadedStranger » 19 Jan 2023, 1:11 pm » wrote: ↑ I had read back when this happened that some of the crew had been using several of the firearms on the set for target practice before filming started for the day.
I agree that live rounds should have never been on the set period, let alone being fired through the "prop" guns that were about to be used by the actors.
The armorer was an idiot for ever allowing that **** on the set in the first place.
I see a national tour regarding gun safety in Alec's future .......via a plea bargain.Huey » 19 Jan 2023, 12:02 pm » wrote: ↑ Alec Baldwin will be criminally charged in connection with the “Rust” shooting that left cinematographer Halyna Hutchins dead, prosecutors said Thursday.
