I got my first Gun at age 12, a Single Shot 410 Winchester Breech-Loader.. Shooting was a family activity, and although Dad was a competition shooter and had a Federal Firearms License, we still took the training / safety course at the Range by a certified instructor..
Even if you've never had a class or watched any Western, you know that pulling the trigger will discharge the weapon.. Supposedly the scene Baldwin was rehearsing to not call for the Gun to be fired at all, yet he did it anyway.. Then he lied saying it fired without his touching the trigger, highly unlikely with a single action revolver.. He deviated from the script, and did not follow basic safety protocol..
The only reason this is political, per say, is because of Baldwin's stance on firearms.impartialobserver » 19 Jan 2023, 6:21 pm » wrote: ↑ interesting how this is a political topic. It is not but in today's world... everything is political. The dog down the street barking at 230 am is proof that some politician either failed or is conspiring against me.

Here is a guy that anti gun as anti gun can get, making a movie where people are shooting each other with guns, and then he actually does shoot and kill somebody on set... with a REAL gun and a REAL bullet.
That's why it's political.
Personally I see is as a tragedy above all else. That young woman had a the whole world ahead of her and was building a promising career, and it was gone in a flash. Baldwin and the armorer should pay a penalty for their neglect in causing her death, because their neglect is what caused her death... and that not political, from my point of view anyway.
Baldwin's political affiliation or opinions have little to nothing to do with that part.

New Mexico prosecutors will charge Baldwin and armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed with two federal counts of involuntary manslaughter over the death of Hutchins on the “Rust” film set in October 2021, when a real bullet was loaded into a prop gun.
Assistant director David Halls, who handed Baldwin the loaded gun, accepted a misdemeanor charge in a plea deal.
“If any one of these three people — Alec Baldwin, Hannah Gutierrez-Reed or David Halls — had done their job, Halyna Hutchins would be alive today. It’s that simple,” special prosecutor Andrea Reeb said.
