And Georgia was not offered NATO membership (I'm not going to thoroughly research that so if I'm wrong let me know) nor was it an existential threat to Russia but a sovereign territory that was drawn up after the fall of the Soviet Union.

That UN brokered grain agreement didn't go anywhere. It was recently extended in November and probably will be again. Just because it's not in the news doesn't mean it isn't happening.

Two things there. First, that was very premature talk about Ukraine and Georgia joining NATO at the Bucharest summit. Also, reports said that Putin wasn't really worried about the expansion but I may be wrong about that one too. Still, I'm not really a fan of invading countries in the 21st century. We should have moved past that by now. Especially after Bush's Iraq failure.
