All the prices have been raised. That will not go away. The dollar is devalued significantly.
That huge pile of money saved up by seniors (and 401k's in general) was the target. It was hit.
Even if wages are raised to even stuff out, our country just gobbled up a chunk of seniors' funds.
Their wages didn't go up.

Deflation is a problem in and of itself in economics. It actually makes things cheaper but also has a malaise of consequences that economists try to avoid. The target was modest inflation of 2% before the Biden administration reconstituted onshoring in light of pressure from Trump political forces. I'm going to try to be bipartisan on that.
Nothing is easier than defending the status quo.

The economy is headed for recession. Consumer debt is at all time high. Layoffs have already started. Inflation is rising. Senile Biden and the Fed share the blame. Senile Joe and the dems passed uncontrolled spending. Biden declared war on the Oil companies and the rising costs of energy have driven prices up on everything The Fed said inflation was transitory and did not start to tighten in time to stop inflation. The incompetence of Yellin and Powell is historic. Powell needs to raise interest rates at least to the rate of inflation and the faster he raises rates the sooner the inflation will end. Deflation?? hahahahaaaaa.

It certainly is better to have a lower paying job than no job at all.
Biden has done everything he could to stop inflation.It is a slow process, especially when you do not want to throw a huge percentage of the people out of work,as Reagan did.

The word on Wall Street is that the recession will probably be a "soft landing". That means that the crash will come sector by sector and not all at once. At least that is the theory. We've already seen that with tech. Still, the question is can Biden really change how the economy will turn when the eventual downturn begins? The business cycle is inherent in any market economy.

However, Covid threw millions of people out of work.
If Biden had done what the Republicans wanted, which was basically zilch, millions of people would have lost their homes,and even more would have been evicted. So the Democrats wisely gave people money so they could survive.
And that caused inflation.
It was very much preferable to what would have happened had the government did what the Republicans wanted.
Biden and the Fed are doing vastly better than Reagan did.
Reagan threw millions out of work. He caused epic homelessness.

Reagan inherited Carters incompetence. Inflation leading to stagflation was rising under Carter and when the inflation got out of control the fed raised interest rates. Carter begged Volker to STOP. Volker, unlike Powell and Yellin, knew how to kill the inflation. Volker raised interest rates to the rate of inflation The housing market was the first to collapse. No one could afford to buy a house and construction ceased. Commercial real estate collapsed. The auto industry was next. No one could afford the interest rates on a car loan. Unemployed rose to %9. Layoffs in the tech industry have already started. The consumer is loaded with debt and soon retail sales will collapse. Powell is far behind the curve. Interest rates will keep rising and Biden will surely be blamed as Dems cannot stop spending. Dems were responsible for the inflation under Carter and they are responsible for the inflation now. After the inflation receded the economy under Reagan boomed. This period of growth lasted all the way through Clinton.

Prices are still increasing... never to return. Nothing to crow about.
