“In 2016, I declared: I am your voice. Today, I add: I am your warrior. I am your justice. And for those who have been wronged and betrayed: I am your retribution,” Trump said. “Not going to let this happen. … I will totally obliterate the deep state. I will fire the unelected bureaucrats and shadow forces who have weaponized our justice system like it has never been weaponized before. And I will put the people back in charge of this country again.”

Perhaps @Vegas knows what to call this particular rhetorical tic. I don't think it is a similie.
But this is a very revealing speech, both in terms of speaker and audience...
The pathological megalomania of the former is self evident. It's an ever metastizing hubris, peaking in a state of delirious messianism.
This is readily enabled by his audience's sense of Collective.....and you're gonna love this....GRIEVANCE....
Better yet, it is furiously targeted at a phantom......who, just coincidentally, is simultaneously crucifying their Carrot Topped savior.
This is a hermetically sealed bubble of delusion, ruled by the aptly christened 2ndBesty Bubble Boy...
