Ratings downgrades can make it more expensive for companies to borrow money. Moody's warned it could similarly downgrade First Republic Bank (FRC), Zions (ZION), Western Alliance (WAL), Comerica (CMA), UMB Financial (UMBF) and Intrust Financial.10 hours ago
All of them.

They downgraded the entire banking system.

Barney Frank is a board member of Signature Bank... you know, the one that just failed as well.

The regulator who took the lead in closing Signature Bank was the financial regulator appointed for the state of New York. Their authority was in no way affected by the 2018 increase in the level of banks subject to the closest supervision. So whatever the regulator in New York decided to do could have been done before. But secondly, I was on the board of Signature both before and after...SUMMERS: Right.
Frank claimed he didn't have anything to do with the Housing bust in 2008 either... and you believed him them too.

And of course the good Governor Newsom has his fingers in the pie as well.

Newsom has deeper ties to Silicon Valley Bank than he let on, report says

That's what TARP did in 2008 by purchasing stock in the banks... in simple terms.

TARP actually made money after the banks bought the stocks back after everything settled down, supposedly.

Silicone is a polymer that's primarily used as a sealant.

Silicon is a material that computer chips and other things, like solar panels, are made out of.

Silicon Valley is also the name of a California bank that just went belly up last weekend.

this is actually kinda dumb imo...because clearly what happens in the USA is that the state will bail out any failing bank. We effectively have nationalized banks. Banks cannot fail in the USA and anyone who realizes that and downgrades them anyway is a fool.

the real answer is that the people managing the bank were idiots and in love with dead end woke projects.

they will not have to pay anything back. wait and see. ALso worth mentioning is that Israel had a few billion invested in this bank, and they got all their money back already...before the state even made any deals.
