When it comes to "rights", yes.
We hold these truths to be self evident that all men are created equal "and endowed by the creator with certain inalienable rights among these life liberty and pursuit of happiness"

you agree with that?
No.  Not completely.  BTW, this is from the Declaration of Independence from England, not from the Constitution which was negotiated as a binding pact between the 13 original states and every state admitted to the Union after that.

In any event, I do not believe that all men are created equal.  I do believe that all men are endowed by the creator with certain inalienable rights.  I do not believe that people have a right to live perpetually, or upon handouts from others.  They have a right to pursue their own lives, pursue happiness and a right  to liberty, i.e. freedom, as more specifically defined by the Constitution.

The statement that "all men are created equal" does not refer to physical or mental ability. Every person has their own personal physical and mental abilities. It refers to their rights before the law. All men deserve equal treatment from the government and those they do some sort of business with.

No one should starve to death in this country.
No one should be forced to live outdoors in this country.

Except, that's not what the statement says.  You can make up all kinds of **** and interject it into what was actually written, but the fact remains, it is not what was said.

I was asked whether I agreed with the statement, as written.  I do not agree with it, as written, and I explained why.

What should happen and the definition of an individual's rights are not even close to being one and the same.

believe that people do not have the right to deprive others.  People should be able to roam the land and live or die by thier own wilderness skills, roughing it.  If we are going the extreme individualist route, you should support that right. You cant have it both ways.  If kids dont have a right to eat, then Bill Gates has no right to buy up all arable land, declare it private property and make people starve while he uses thier tax dollars to police the very lands they are "trespassing"

Ok, let's address this point of yours.

I maintain that Bill Gates in fact has no right to buy up huge amounts of arable land and declare it private property. He has the ability to do this.  And, no government has attempted to pass a law stopping the super-wealthy from doing it.  Yet, a state, or even the federal government, can pass laws that restrict the amount of land an individual can own, or a corporation can own.  There is no inalienable right of an individual to own an unlimited amount of land.  So, there is a viable political solution to your perceived problem.

As for people starving - that has nothing to do with your statement or my comment to your statement, so I'm going to ignore it.  That's nothing more than "cry-baby" appeal.

Really depends on the individual reciting it. You, for instance, always misleading people from understanding life evolving in plain sight. You are a conspirator.

That's the same thing, chief.

2 rotations shy of a 3 year old dead thread, why bother? Last 5 posts were misleading anyway. Always directing ideas down socially engineered outcomes, not biological standard evolving.

Here and now vs now and later is like comparing yesterday with tomorrow yesterday being noon to midnight, tomorrow midnight to noon, everyone pretends life isn't self evident dawn to dusk.

noon to midnight is yesterday from Greenwich Prime meridian to international dateline of rotation as tomorrow arrived at international dateline each rotation of the planet people call it one of 7 sequential days a week 52 weeks a year regardless the year has 365 or 366 days and 8 seasonal shifts 4 times a year.

6 halves of the planet and 8 seasonal shifts between two solstices and two equinoxes people create intellectual character roles to play cradle to grave honoring family traditional beliefs life is more than adapting in plain sight daily here.

Dawn to dusk the half of the planet facing the specific star in this specific solar system of this specific galaxy by each specific ancestor inhabiting time daily here. Dusk to dawn faces the universe outside this atmosphere. northern and southern hemispheres are opposite seasons each rotation of the planet so solar solstices happen once at each polar axis point each 6 months between two days a year annual equinoxes daylight and night are equal at the polar caps.

You really need to stop rationalizing time to fit your imagined outcome of staying alive beyond adapting in plain sight.

Each brain navigates personal time alive spontaneously here and every social mind was nurtured after birth to simultaneously never accept life is a balance of personal behaviors combined daily here.

the intellectual competition to rank higher socially than your own siblings, cousins, parents, aunts, uncles, grandparents, great grandparents, great great grandparents most great great grandchildren never met after birth.

out of sight, out of mind, seeing is believing life must be more than just equally evolving forward now. One hell of a philosophy every reality defends until extinction happens..
