It never ceases to amaze me how totally stupid or uneducated people are.

I've had to bite my tongue a lot in life. Dumb people get really defensive. Quickly.
"Dumb" is my word used as an umbrella term. Covers both stupid and uneducated.RedheadedStranger » 19 Mar 2023, 9:01 pm » wrote: ↑ Ignorance can be remedied... stupidity, not so much.
"Dumb" is simple minded or incapable, to me anyway.DeezerShoove » 19 Mar 2023, 9:04 pm » wrote: ↑ "Dumb" is my word used as an umbrella term. Covers both stupid and uneducated.
I agree with you.
I have said this to partisan asses on both sides, many times: The MOST dishonest and shopworn crap ever is the "man in the street" interview, because anyone can capture film proving anything, with the disproofs left on the cutting room floor.
Incapable can mean uneducated.RedheadedStranger » 19 Mar 2023, 9:14 pm » wrote: ↑ "Dumb" is simple minded or incapable, to me anyway.
"Stupid" is having the wherewithal to discern logic from feeling, but choosing not to.
Being "ignorant" is just not knowing the facts.
When I call someone a dumb ***, it carries more weight than if I call them stupid. I rarely, if ever, use ignorant... because that's curable.

You're speaking of ignorance and not capacity though.DeezerShoove » 19 Mar 2023, 11:09 pm » wrote: ↑ Incapable can mean uneducated.
Until someone is taught, they may be incapable of the task at hand.

There's more than one way to determine "capable". I try to stay out of arguing semantics especially when we already agree. The nuance of word usage isn't really at issue here.RedheadedStranger » 19 Mar 2023, 11:27 pm » wrote: ↑ You're speaking of ignorance and not capacity though.
I know 25 year olds that can't match with wits my three year old grandson.
We have a ruined generation.
Don't you LOVE TI when Professor BROKEBACK just PROVES that his entire "education" thingy he IS A PART OF has been an ABJECT FAILURE to the AMERICAN PUBLIC!!

I won't click the link - probably just some leftist click-bait, but you can never tell. Xavier is not usually up to nefarious games, but I wouldn't put it past him.

Regardless, I assure you that I can locate most countries on an unmarked globe with fairly good accuracy. Many major cities as well.

these people obviously had no interest to begin with and geography fell off their radar fast...
now I do agree, this is basic low info stuff and by all rights some of the stuff s/b known...but then there are a lot of people where walking and chewing gum would be a task...

Of course...it's like when a serious crime happens in a neighborhood and the news interviews "a neighbor"...it make one wonder how many were interviewed and what the station's criteria and endgame are....gum chewing may be one of them...DeezerShoove » 20 Mar 2023, 9:20 am » wrote: ↑ I am sure they cherry-picked the dumbest crap possible.
Making a humorous vid was the point and right answers were not the goal.
The people with gum just walked by.
