The earth would be warming with or without man being a "polluter".
There is evidence galore on temperature cycles throughout history.

A couple of man's "contributions" are overpopulating known natural hazard areas and letting forests build up LOTS of deadwood so we can build houses among that natural debris.
Floods in natural river overflow areas now wipe out houses that shouldn't be there. Tough titty, arrogant moron. Water always wins.

The thing is, we CAN contain and prevent fires We CAN control water - with absolute precision. We simply choose to go on the cheap and the stupid, in defiance of the natural order.

We are born stewards. We have sold our birth right. There is nothing necessarily wrong with building in a flood plain. Granted, the highest and best use of that land is almost certainly agricultural, not residential. But THAT is the proper argument against building on flood plains - not a water challenge. **** BEAVERS can manage water. We have engineers.
