'You've got to be kidding me': MSNBC host spooked by revelation that climate change is making fungus deadlier
A drug-resistant fungal infection that kills a third to three-quarters of those who are afflicted – is evolving to survive in warmer environments such as the human body and that this adaptation is a direct consequence of climate change. What we are starting to see is what is called pan-resistance. These are the fungus that are resistant to all the antifungals we have, and that's when it causes an issue. And right now, if you look at the mortality rate for people who get this, thirty to seventy-two percent, that's a huge mortality rate. So why is this so virulent?" "So here's the thing that is happening. Up until now, this type of fungus hasn't really affected us. As a matter of fact, this first started hearing about it in the Nineties, early Two-Thousands. We think that what is happening is this fungus normally can't live at the temperature inside our body. It lives cooler temperatures, and so our temperature of 98.6 was keeping it at a bay. But because of climate warming, the fungus is actually adapting to warmer temperatures, which means it's gonna be able to colonize in our body bodies.
"Are we doomed?"
"Absolutely. Unless we prioritize our funding to combat Climate Change."
We have created resistant bugs with our overuse of antibiotics.Punch » 21 Mar 2023, 8:57 pm » wrote: ↑

The thing is, we CAN contain and prevent fires We CAN control water - with absolute precision. We simply choose to go on the cheap and the stupid, in defiance of the natural order.DeezerShoove » 21 Mar 2023, 9:42 pm » wrote: ↑ We have created resistant bugs with our overuse of antibiotics.
This is also a fact. Scientists have warned about overuse for DECADES.
The earth would be warming with or without man being a "polluter".
There is evidence galore on temperature cycles throughout history.
A couple of man's "contributions" are overpopulating known natural hazard areas and letting forests build up LOTS of deadwood so we can build houses among that natural debris.
Floods in natural river overflow areas now wipe out houses that shouldn't be there. Tough titty, arrogant moron. Water always wins.
Oh, scary fire in the back yard? Stay out of the **** woods, Dr Impressivehouse.
We confuse MAN's dire circumstances with NATURAL events.
Let the fungus eat us alive. It's the fungi's turn...
I suspected it was topical, but still...FOS » 21 Mar 2023, 9:16 pm » wrote: ↑ this is so stupid. You literally fell for media advertisement for 'the last of us'

Wake up and smell the fungus.
