I have a friend who has several stores in the seattle area - tacoma, seattle and fife, to be precise. These are sandwich shops. When the minimum wage legislation had everyone ****, he raised his wages to 2 dollars ABOVE minimum. He recognized that unless he could hire and retain the best, the wage environment was going to be unkind. He needed producers - high steppers. 

I will be honest. One of his people DOES have pink hair, and she's a go getter. But metaphorically speaking, he doesn't have any pink hairs on his payroll. He has the pick of the litter.

He got ahead of the 8-ball, and that was a very smart move.  He bought a high degree of employee loyalty and he'll have an easier time recruiting good staff. That's what it takes to run a good restaurant.  He'll just have to pass on the higher costs to his customers, which won't be that difficult once they realize that when they dine elsewhere, they are basically eating at a non-resteraunt for a few bucks less - **** food, **** service and a "we're hiring" sign perpetually affixed to the window.

Same here. I was a kid in the 60s, and steamboat willy was lame as a mother ****. Mickey mouse was nonexistant. And the micky mouse club was something for ***. I think donald duck was a disney character, and he was tolerable as filler between cartoons we liked on a saturday. Warner Brothers had the good **** - them, and to a lesser degree Hanna-Barbera. Disney wasn't ****.

When you say "worth" do you mean market cap? Gross Assets?  Or Gross Assets less Gross Liabilities.  Please clarify.

The comic books were very popular.

Dollar devalued 50% in last decade. 50% the decade before that, 25% the decade prior to that. Inflation or deflation doesn't really matter which. It is all semantics, hypotheticals, hyperbole spawned by what if now cannot be eternity protected by what about what everyone else believes possible into social fruition ancestrally forward so far.

It kept the set on after school.
The audience was elementary school kids. When you reached 12 or so, they changed the channel. It did not age well because the audience lacked disposable income. The ads to smaller kids gravitated to the Saturday morning cartoons.

When I was in school. NO ONE got beat up for reading comics.
The kids who did not read comic books were the ones who could not read at all.
I was reading comic books when I was six years old.

Net worth is normally defined as Market Cap.  Disney is a whisker shy of $184B as of yesterday
