I have two. One is an older liberal- a hippy type gal.. she's pretty cool. but she is not a progressive.RebelGator » 19 Apr 2023, 10:48 am » wrote: ↑ You would constantly worry about them being around your children, as a neighbor you would be concerned about them somehow accidently burning down your house, if one was your Doctor, they would more than likely take out the working kidney, as a Little League coach, your son would somehow become a worse player, as a financial advisor you would wake up one morning broke on your ***.......it's best to avoid them whenever possible, your life will be way less complicated.
I've noticed no matter the situation, event, news, accident, speech......the liberal will be 180 degree opposite of common sense intelligence. I could no more have a liberal friend than I could a rabid dog.ConsRule » 19 Apr 2023, 11:25 am » wrote: ↑ That's easy. I can be friends with people that disagree with me. If someone is a mature adult, it isn't difficult to do. You simply need to remind yourself that the odds are extremely high YOU aren't the smartest person on the planet, you don't have all the information available on any topic and there are always more than one way to address any issue.
If you don't have the ability to accept those things...well, you are worth having as a friend.
This post is just slap full of contradictions.RayJJohnson » 19 Apr 2023, 11:19 am » wrote: ↑ Because I am a thinking adult and not a tribal moron. I have no problem having liberal friends but they are not really that close because we don't have much in common. When we are together we don't talk politics.
Based on YOUR definition of "common sense intelligence". Who died and made you the final arbiter of what qualifies as common sense?RebelGator » 19 Apr 2023, 11:45 am » wrote: ↑ I've noticed no matter the situation, event, news, accident, speech......the liberal will be 180 degree opposite of common sense intelligence. You'll get over it.

Maybe you're tolerated.Squatchman » 19 Apr 2023, 1:27 pm » wrote: ↑ How do you know unless you ask.
And then what? Look like an asshole and say" I can't talk to you, you're a liberal."
You can't tell by looking at people what their political leanings are.
I wear a Stetson, sometimes a Glock hat, leather jackets and carry a gun. I probably look more conservative than you.
I'm friends with a lot of conservatives. In fact probably all of my friends are. Everyone where I live are conservative or 90% are.
Drug store cowboy.....get rid of the nose ring though, it's a dead giveaway.Squatchman » 19 Apr 2023, 1:27 pm » wrote: ↑ How do you know unless you ask.

I guess that's what I don't understand.....friends as long as you don't bring up certain topics.....it's sound like more of an acquaintance than a friend.Z09 » 19 Apr 2023, 2:42 pm » wrote: ↑ Liberals...
I think they're wrong..
However, they think I'm evil..
I can still be friends but just don't bring up politics
Being friends with a rabid dog sounds easier though.RebelGator » 19 Apr 2023, 11:45 am » wrote: ↑ I've noticed no matter the situation, event, news, accident, speech......the liberal will be 180 degree opposite of common sense intelligence. I have a couple of liberal friends. We completely disagree on everything politics, yet we are still close friends. He ignores my right-wing rants and I ignore his left-wing idiocy. We have a few beers and laugh a lot about life.RebelGator » 19 Apr 2023, 10:48 am » wrote: ↑ You would constantly worry about them being around your children, as a neighbor you would be concerned about them somehow accidently burning down your house, if one was your Doctor, they would more than likely take out the working kidney, as a Little League coach, your son would somehow become a worse player, as a financial advisor you would wake up one morning broke on your ***.......it's best to avoid them whenever possible, your life will be way less complicated.
