I'm a poor slob who wants to freeload off of those who worked hard to provide for themselves and their loved ones all their lives.

Any reality that never accepts life as being self evident will never sustain a country historically doesn't last more than 5 generation gaps before becoming another ideology governing people never same ancestors left each generation gap alive now.

Government provides some of the best health care in the world .......BUT one must be active duty

National Debt today  =  31.6 Trillion & getting higher every day.
Perhaps we should concentrate on paying off our present debt
before incurring Trillions more in new, shall we ?

Or register with a reservation if you have a **** hair of engine in you. I hear They got better health care than Cuba!

couple more reasons 

businesses can’t hold people at their jobs because of the fear of losing health care, no mater how **** they treat them

Millions can start a small business and be able to recruit their friends and family if they are no longer on the hook for benefits

people can retire after 30 years with a company … many are forced to keep working longer than that to keep healthcare benefits now

lots of good reasons 

but who needs that?  …. We got wars to wage, tax cuts for billionaires … corporate welfare for all the political donors to fund

but fear not … something will trickle down for “we the people “

A story- i was in the local hospital.. For a very serious issue. There was just me- and a room beside me of a young woman who just had a baby on the entire ward... I went out to the nurses desk... and I complained... I Need to go up the street to see my chiro...

Why not? I will be back in 30 minutes.. No you can't! why?  I can wear my Johnny and get back fast? they gave in....

So in comes my chiropractor....
 we laugh till this day....

The OP is based on a false premise. It assumes that the government actually cares about the people. Our government is a war machine. Its business is war. It always has been. Since our founding 246 years ago, we have only known 17 years of peace. What other evidence do you need? Even if every American, all 350 million of us, demanded what the OP suggests, the government wouldn't budge. That is the reality. The sooner that both sides come to terms with that, the clearer things will be as to why there are so many social ills in society. But of course, it's easier to just say it's the other side's fault...blah blah blah...

And then they sent me out on my way in an ambulance...... the local hospital was cool... The local nurses gave me a ham sammich. I landed in a huge hospital -3 hours away? They checked me for lice.... lol. I was so hungry  and all alone--no one was there. no body cared I hadn't eaten in a day- so be it- I had my stash of a ham sandwich in my back pocket....  from the local nurses
And then it began?  the woke? I had social workers coming in- nuts-
I had anti smoker nuts- I had gay nutrionists wearing bow ties.. I had religious figures... pastors. I think the cutest thing was a an ol Lady with her  FAT lab and so was her dog...... she was cute....
They wouldn't let me even sleep!  The nurses- women and men .. came into my room because  i was the only one who had the heat turned up!
