Jerry Springer is an American television presenter, former lawyer, politician, news presenter, actor, and musician. He was born on February 13, 1944, in London, England, and later immigrated to the United States with his family. Springer is best known for hosting the tabloid talk show "The Jerry Springer Show," which aired from 1991 to 2018. The show was famous for its controversial and sensational topics, as well as frequent on-stage altercations among guests. Springer has also been involved in various other television projects and has made numerous guest appearances on other TV shows. In addition to his career in entertainment, he has worked as a news anchor, served as the Mayor of Cincinnati, Ohio, and even tried his hand at singing.

first I heard of it. a little bit sad.

I credit him for the way our news is today. All emotionally charged drama and bickering, but no substance. It gets ratings. People love that ****. 

I always liked Springer, I wish he would have stuck with politics

I just read through his Bio on Wikipedia.  The guy did a lot during his 79 years.  I doubt I'd agree with him politically, but I admire him for his accomplishments.

He did. He made everything political exercise in futility against societal evolution and rule of law discrediting evolving in plain sight.

Jerry Springer was not stupid, but he realized how the truly stupid could be turned into entertainment for those who were truly stupid, but also lazy.

A conservative cultural icon. Along with Chuck Barris, they both are key players in the dumbing down of American. Then comes Geraldo. All intellectual rot.

He was a liberal Democrat and Democratic mayor of Cincinnati until he bought a prostitute.
A big Obama supporter and didn’t care about his less than sympathetic views towards Israel.
