The statistics regarding who was president when the debt ceiling was raised are NOT inaccurate.

Obama was in office from January 2009 through January 2017.  The debt ceiling was raised on: 2/17/09, 12/24/09, 2/12/10, 1/30/12, 5/19/13, 2/7/14 and 3/15/15.  Just in case you can't count that high...that is seven increases in the debt ceiling.  Additionally, it was suspended twice during his time in office.

As for the total debt, at the end of fiscal 2008 (fiscal year ends on Sept. 30) the total debt was $10.02 trillion...at the end of fiscal 2016 the total debt was $19.57 trillion.  That is an increase in total debt of $9.55 trillion...which rounds to $10 trillion.

Now is the time to stop raising the debt ceiling.  Republicans control the House.  We have the power.  We only cede the power through the weakness of those whom we elected.  Let's see who caves.
