Well, yeah, China is not entirely evil.
On the other hand, the Chinese persecution of the Uighurs and the members of Fa Lin Gong is against the UN Declaration of Human Rights.
Should the US support the UN Declaration of Human Rights? Yes, it should. It should do so within its own borders and with regard to Israel as well.
The reality is that Taiwan should be given its independence, but the US has declared that is is part of China.
It has never been a part of the present government of China. It was an ignored part of the Chinese Empire until 1895, after which it was a Japanese colony.
I do not know the context that Vance is referring to.

I am pretty sure that Ambassador Sullivan was not advocating war between the US and China.
It is absurd to call "500 congressmen" ***. *** has nothing to do with US/Chinese relations.
There are 435 voting members of the House and 5 nonvoting members representing the territories. There are 100 Senators.
So the total is 435, arguably 440 and perhaps 535 or 540.
500 is inaccurate, in any case.
It would be interesting to examine who contributed to JD Vance's campaign. He is a Republican Senator from Ohio.

Not everything China has done has been bad. In 1980, China was an impoverished Third-World county with an economy smaller than that of Australia. Today the Chinese economy is the second largest in the world. Hundreds of millions of Chines are better off by a huge margin. Probably some Chinese person built the monitor you are reading this on and the computer and keyboard you used to post this on.
