Countries don't die, citizens lose faith in their "leaderships". This country lost faith in their representatives pretending to be leaders directing outcomes instead of evolving into them.

Cannot make things balance tipping scales to favor one over every other else's. This mind game of which reality becomes the scales of value for every other has corrupted this species to the brink of self extinction because everyone believes nobody knows what created corruption s everyone else's reality but their own personal behavior honoring maybes when genetics delivers specifics.
