that is silly.  I always knew how the senate works, and I never said anything to the contrary.

I KNOW I NEVER SAID ANYTHING THAT COULD BE INTERPRETED AS ME NOT KNOWING HOW THE SENATE WORKS.

If all senators are present and voting, it will ALWAYS take 51 votes to pass a bill in the US Senate. The final vote can be 51-49 or 51-50, but it will ALWAYS take 51.
