we were talking about votes. You said VOTES, not senators. There is NO bill that has EVER passed the senate if all senators are present and voting with only 50 votes. In that situation, the VP is acting as the President of the Senate. And why would I retract my correct statement? We were talking about the Senate, not the Vice President's vote.
if you had said 50 senators, you STILL would not have been correct, given the fact that the VP could always cast a NAY vote.... or refrain from even casting a vote in which case 50 votes would still not be enough.

So... you think that 50 votes are all that is needed to pass a bill in the senate when all senators are present and voting? Please show me one roll call vote that supports that assertion.
