Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor didn’t recuse herself from multiple cases involving a book publisher –  Penguin Random House – which paid her more than $3 million since 2010, according to a report.  The copyright infringement cases, in which Penguin Random House stood to suffer financial damage if the court ruled unfavorably, were not taken up by the high court but justices voted on whether or not to hear the cases.  Altogether, Sotomayor earned $3.6 million from Penguin Random House and its subsidiaries for agreeing to let them publish her 2013 memoir...  The same year that HER memoir came out, Sotomayor voted on whether the high court should take up Aaron Greenspan v. Random House (the relative case).   Her liberal colleague at the time, Justice Stephen Breyer, RECUSED himself from the case... having ALSO received money from Penguin Random House.... Justice Soto Meyer NEVER DID !!

NOW, the RABID DOG Democrats...who wanted to REMOVE Justice Thomas and other Conservative Justices for NOTHING (relative to what Soto Meyer has been CAUGHT RED HANDED doing)... ARE SILENT !!

Do the SCUMBAG DEMOCRATS HAVE NO SHAME???  It's a rhetorical question... BECAUSE... OF COURSE THEY DON'T !!

Conservative Justice Neil Gorsuch, who joined the court in 2017 and also has received hundreds of thousands of dollars in book deals with the publisher, declined to disqualify himself from the more recent case when it came before the court for consideration.

I don't disagree with that... EXCEPT... that the SPECIFICS matter:

1)  Justice Sotomayor received $3.6 Million from Penguin Random House WHILE she was a Justice, and SHE SPECIFICALLY voted to NOT hear three (2) cases against Penguin Random House... which COULD have resulted in large settlements AGAINST Penguin Random House... she REFUSED to recuse herself !

2) Justice Gorsuch received $600K from Penguin Random House WHILE he was a Justice, and SPECIFICALLY voted to NOT hear one (1) case against Penguin Random House... which COULD have resulted in large settlements AGAINST Penguin Random House... he REFUSED to recuse himself !

3) Justice Steven Breyer who ALSO received book royalties from the publisher Penguin Random House, but DID recused himself.

4)  Amy Coney Barrett received six-figure book advances... THAT appears to be TRUE... BUT THAT is NOT illegal... From what I could see, in none of those instances were the book companies cases in front of the Supreme Court, and so, there was NO REASON for her to recuse herself, and so, was NOTHING illegal or unethical !

it seems to me Justice Sotomayor is OBVIOUSLY and UTTERLY guilty of KNOWINGLY and REPEATEDLY abusing her position and power!  Justice Gorsuch looks to be in the same boat as Sotomayor... but is NOT in as EGREGIOUS circumstances... Justice Breyer should be congratulated for DOING the RIGHT thing... and regarding Amy Coney Barrett ?... it seems Liberals want to ACCUSE her of something that is NOT illegal... and to tar her with the same brush as Sotomayor and Gorsuch... but the circumstances DO NOT appear to be the same !!!
