I sorta retired right before COVID and expected a life of leisure and fishing, and having a garden... and then everybody was at my house, and couldn't leave.

I was traumatized.

I have a buddy that kayak fishes with ear buds...
He a music man type. DJ's gigs for spare cash and fun.

He's lost three sets of ear buds. They don't float.   

He's a catch-and-release guy. I'm not. I eat almost anything I catch.

Shhheez, the **** that Ive lost kayak fishing.  Im a clumsy ****.

I only catch and release bass cuz they taste like **** to me.  But fun to catch, fighting angry bastards.

My fav to catch is a chunk Crappie.  Dam they taste good crispy fried.

I hear that from other people a lot about bass.
I've never thought they were a bad fish taste-wise. To each his own.

Smelt are pretty good too for a poor man's feast.

Sucker and carp are greasy, stinky, terrible texture.
Catfish is the last choice before you eat your dead friend's leg.

Lake and river cats taste like mud.
I really wanna travel north and catch a Walleye.

Walleye is pretty good, I guess.
Some people rave about it a bit too much.
There's a second set of bones along the sides that has to be contended with. Pin bones.
I fillet them out, some guys don't. Small walleyes 15" aren't really an issue.
Like smelt bones so small you can just eat them. Bigger walleye have to get them out.
Everyone's different.

When you unhook them they can be nasty biters too. Lots of teeth.

I learned the hard way that those bottom teeth go through leather gloves.
