Well ya'll, get ready for the ripple effects. You know that the dims in the rest of the states will make an attempt to follow suit.
California is moving forward with its effort to compensate and apologize to Black residents for harm caused by discriminatory policies over generations after the state’s reparations task force voted to approve recommendations Saturday. What was recommended? The task force recommended a range of policy proposals, including the creation of an agency to handle compensation claims and possible “down payment” to those eligible as well as how to calculate the amount California owes its Black residents.Among the recommendations were possible estimates of reparations owed by the state, including:
  • An estimated $13,619 for each year of residency, based on a 71-year life expectancy, for harm caused by health care disparities.
  • An estimated $115, 260 or $2,352 for each year of residency in the state within the 49-year period between 1971 and 2020 to compensate for mass incarceration and overpolicing of Black communities.
  • An estimated $148,099 – or $3,366 for each year between 1933 and 1977 spent as a California resident – to account for discriminatory housing policies.

not sure how they plan to pull this off, but someone that identifies as black wouldnt qualify

Who would qualify for reparations?People who are descendants of enslaved people or free Black people who were in the U.S. before 1900 would qualify for reparations in this proposal. The task force "voted to recommend that only those individuals who are able to demonstrate that they are the descendant of either an individual enslaved in the United States, or an individual who was present in the United States prior to 1900 be eligible for monetary reparations," the report reads. The task force decided on eligibility in March 2022 in a contentious 5-4 vote. Some members of the panel suggested making reparations universal to all 2.6 million Black residents of the state, arguing that the legacy of slavery, state-sanctioned racism and terror harm all Black people, including those who immigrated more recently. They also note that tracing one's lineage to an enslaved person would be difficult as individuals enslaved were deprived of documentation and frequently forced to move around. Advocates for a descent-based reparations system, who prevailed in the vote, argued that this framework would have the best chance of surviving legal challenges before the current conservative Supreme Court, which has been rolling back race-based laws and policies.

What they are wanting, and are likely to get, is a RACE WAR that will spread to every State in the Union.

Not a single living person today has EVER owned a slave OR BEEN A SLAVE so this **** is going to come to a head and one these Blacks aren't going to like. I can see WHITE FOLKS not being real happy about being TAXED to pay BLACKS for something they had NOTHING TO DO WITH.

Yeah, a RACE WAR is likely.

With the exception of a few really old black people, no one has suffered from lack of opportunity in this Country.

I personally know quite a few black folks my age that have done very well for themselves despite all the perceived oppression that has been leveled against them.

I know that if they start handing out millions of dollars to black folks just for being black, I'm investing in high end watches and luxury automobiles, that's for sure.

I heard Newsom is backing off now. Maybe he wants to make a run at president and doesn't want to look like the moron that he is.

But this really does raise a tsunami of questions of what exactly will be the Metric to determine one's percentage of Negroness, and how will it be applied?  Here's just a few questions that will most certainly come up, which you can bet an army of salivating Lawyers will be arguing in California courtrooms...

            1.  Define a Negro.
            2.  Will the payout be based on the applicant's percentage of Negro blood... Example, Half-Negro get a 50% payment... Full Negro 100% etc.
            3.  How will the large numbers of ****** born into illegitimacy, not knowing their Father, be able to prove Negro lineage.. Will they be                                   disqualified, or will they be awarded a settlement based on their skin tone?
            4.  Without verifiable documentation to prove Negro bloodline, will a device like a Window Tint Meter police use to check cars make the call?

            5.  Will the Negro applicant be required to prove ancestry back to pre-1865?
            6.  What about ****** whose ancestors arrived in this country post-slavery?
            7.  What about those who identify as Transracial, or White Wiggers suffering from pigmentation dysphoria who've made Ebonics their first                           language?
