ok let's ask @Z09

@Z09  uykraine is portrayed as a country that was invaded by russia for no reason. but ukraine threatened russia before the invasion.
his was in 2021, before the invasion.

KYIV, Aug 24 (Reuters) - Ukraine held its first military parade in several years, celebrating the 30th anniversary of its independence and declaring it would reclaim areas of its territory annexed by Russia.Units of the Ukrainian army, tanks, armored personnel carriers, missiles and air defence systems marched along the central street of Kyiv, while a parade of Ukrainian Navy units took place in the Black Sea port of Odessa

******************************************************************"We are fighting for our people, because it is possible to temporarily occupy territories, but it is impossible to occupy people's love for Ukraine," President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said at a ceremony before the parade."People in Donbass and Crimea will return to us, because we are a family," he said.Relations between Kyiv and Moscow collapsed after Russia annexed the Crimean peninsula in 2014 and the outbreak of war between Ukrainian troops and Russian-backed forces in eastern Ukraine that Kyiv says has killed 14,000 people in seven years.

Russia stole Crimea from Ukraine.  All Ukraine was doing was promising to one day get back Crimea.  And, the military parade was within its own country, not even in any part stolen by Russia.  Ukraine was completely within its rights to do what it did.  Russia wanted Crimea, so it took it by force.  Then, it wanted the rest of Ukraine and it is trying to take it by force.  It is as simple as that.

You inconveniently left out the part about Russia taking Crimea, a part of Ukraine, by force - that tells me that what you said was an intentional lie and nothing more than propaganda.  Same thing the Leftists do all the time.  Leave out "inconvenient" facts.

Ukraine was butt-hurt over Russia forcefully taking Crimea away from it.  And, it has every right to be butthurt about it.  Russia, and I repeat Russia, agreed that Crimea would be part of Ukraine.  Putin simply didn't like this.  He wanted Russia to have better access to the Black sea, both for commerce and for its military, and he took it by force.

Why shouldn't Ukraine vow to take back Crimea, a land that rightfully belonged to it, from Russia?  It was within its rights to do so.  It's not like Ukraine was threatening to take Belarus, Moscow, or any other territory of Russia's.

the truth is that the invasion in 2022 was really about ukraine taking back crimea. americans were lied to into thinking russia invaded ukraine out of the blue.

With the dissolution of the Soviet Union and Ukrainian independence in 1991 most of the peninsula was reorganized as the Republic of Crimea, although in 1995 the Republic was forcibly abolished by Ukraine with the Autonomous Republic of Crimea established firmly under Ukrainian authority.

would americans willingly fund a campaign for ukraine to take crimea back to the tune of billions of dollars plus risk the chance of starting ww3? I doubt it. but now america is on the brink of bankruptsy and closer to  ww3 than we have ever been. and now ukraine wants a  couple of billion dollars more.

The **** is POURING out of you today!
1. Biden is hemmed in by law but we'll see what happens. Too soon to tell.
So after two and a half years of ignoring the law, libs still don't recognize breaking the law when Biden does it?
2. Crime is down not up; bail and "defunding cops" (which hasn't happened) have nothing to do with Biden.
Nobody cares about your phony comparison of Biden's poor record!  Crime has skyrocketed since Trump left office!:
Poll: 73 Percent of Americans Believe Crime Is Higher Under Joe Biden than Donald Trump
3. The market, not Biden, controls gas prices. Inflation is also out of Biden's hands.
****!  The laws of supply and demand control gas prices, and Biden intentionally made drastic cuts to domestic oil production on day one in office!
4. The national debt is always a looming disaster; Democrats have always saved us from it, as they did with Trump,
when they have authority to do so.
You're not "saved" from the "looming disaster" when Democrats refuse to cut spending which would lower inflation! You're making it far worse!
5. The Afghan withdrawal was a debacle, you're correct. It's over.
"Over", huh?  Who was fired?  Who went to jail for the stupid decisions that killed 13 Marines?  How do you reward the idiot general who thought it would be cheaper to leave $88 billion worth of high-tech weapons and equipment in the hands of Taliban terrorists?
6. Biden is not demanding reparations.
Yet!  Do you really think he'd let Newsome have sole ownership of that idiotic plan in the coming election primaries?
7. Gun control is a disaster, you're right. We don't have any.
Nor do we need any!  Or don't you understand the meaning of the 2nd Amendment?
8. "School choice", so called, is a state and local issue.
If you think so, then what the **** do we need the Federal Dept. of Education controlling the $102.8 BILLION Biden's demanding in his budget, which is and increase of 41% IN ONE YEAR?

WAKE UP, LIBERAL!

It was called the Republic of Crimea within the Ukrainian federation. Te word 'republic' in Russian and Ukrainian means only something like 'state'.
There is no majority population in Crimea.
Khruschev (who was Ukrainian) transferred Crimea to the Ukrainian SSR in the 1950's

Before that Stalin rounded up the Crimean Tatars and others and shipped them off to Kazakhstan, some returned later.
